Sermons from Seven Mile Road Church in Waltham

In this sermon Pastor Clint preaches Luke 4:14–30. Here Jesus proclaims Himself as the fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy, offering grace to the poor and oppressed. The people of Nazareth reject Him, offended that someone so familiar could make such a claim and that God’s grace might extend to outsiders. Their pride and unbelief prevent them from receiving the grace of Christ, leading them to attempt to kill Him.…

In this sermon, Pastor Clint walks thru Luke 4:1–13. Jesus is led by the Spirit into the wilderness and successfully resists the devil’s temptations by relying on God’s Word. Unlike Adam, who fell in paradise, and Israel, who failed in the wilderness, Jesus remains faithful, showing Himself to be the true Son who perfectly obeys the Father. His victory is not just an example, but the foundation of our righteousness—He succeeds where we failed, so that in Him, we stand justified.…

In this Easter sermon, Pastor Clint opens up Acts 2:22–39. Peter boldly proclaims that Jesus of Nazareth, attested by God through miracles, was crucified by lawless men according to God's plan, but God raised Him from the dead, freeing Him from the power of death. He declares that the resurrection fulfills David’s prophecy, showing that Jesus is both Lord and Messiah, exalted to God's right hand and pouring out the promised Holy Spirit. Convicted, the crowd asks what to do, and Peter calls them to repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of sins, assuring them that this promise extends to all whom the Lord calls…

In this sermon, Pastor Clint looks at Luke 3:15–22. As people wonder if John the Baptist might be the Messiah, he clarifies that one greater than him is coming—so great that John is unworthy to untie His sandals. John baptizes with water, but this greater one—Jesus—will baptize with the Holy Spirit and fire, bringing both salvation and judgment. When Jesus is baptized, the heavens open, the Holy Spirit descends on Him like a dove, and a voice from heaven affirms His divine Sonship, marking Him as the promised greater one.…

In this sermon on Luke 2:39-52, Pastor Kevin considers the spiritual growth of Jesus. After returning to Nazareth, Jesus grew in wisdom and favor with God and man, showing that His spiritual growth involved deepening understanding and faithful obedience. When He remained in the temple at twelve, engaging with the teachers, He revealed His unique identity as the Son of God, fully devoted to His Father’s will. Yet, by also submitting to His earthly parents, Jesus modeled for us that true spiritual growth means pursuing God’s wisdom while walking in humility and obedience in everyday life.…

Sermons from Seven Mile Road Church in Waltham

in this sermon, Pastor Clint walks thru Luke 2:8-20. The angel announces to the shepherds the birth of Jesus, the Savior, bringing "good news of great joy" for all people, and a host of angels praise God, declaring peace on earth. The shepherds respond by immediately seeking out Jesus, finding Him in the manger just as they were told, and then joyfully sharing the news with others. Will we, like the shepherds and Mary, respond to the gospel in faith and worship, pondering the glorious reality of grace in our hearts?…

In this sermon, Pastor Kevin looks at In Luke 2:1-7. Here we see God’s providence displayed as He orchestrates a Roman decree to bring Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem, fulfilling the prophecy that the Messiah would be born in David’s city. Though Christ is the long-awaited King, His birth is marked by profound humility, as He enters the world not in a palace but in a lowly manger. This contrast highlights God’s sovereign plan, exalting the lowly and using the ordinary to accomplish His redemptive purposes.…

Here, the angel Gabriel announces to Mary that she will conceive and bear the Son of God, a message that initially prompts her reasonable question, "How will this be, since I am a virgin?" As Gabriel explains God’s plan and the power of the Holy Spirit, Mary gradually moves from questioning to trusting, accepting the incredible promise. Ultimately, her humble and submissive response, “I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word,” serves as a model of faith, showing us how to trust God’s purposes even when they surpass our understanding.…
