We’ve gone through some things in 2024 but we all have unfinished business that might carry through to the new year if we don’t actively choose to let go. The thing is, our unfinished business is not just going to go away at the start of the new year, that healing, forgiveness, that sin: if it’s not intentionally removed will remain. Like the Israelites that came across Jericho, there are walls we face that can only be overcome through obedience. As we lean not on our or understanding and see a circumstance through the eyes of God, it begins to give us the strength to change.Often the directions of God are obscure but as we trust we get to speak the word of God over our situation we can see the truth begin to transform us. There are things in our lives that no one else can triumph but us and He knows our facts but He’s looking for our faith. The baggage that we have can’t come with us especially if we are expecting God to take us to the next level. God will put us in situations where our faith leads us to the last effort but our history with God should be the firm foundation for us to go from one victory to the next. The enemy wants us to be so shortsighted that we forget where God has come through. Here some some things we can think through:What do you see? God is always challenging us to look past what our physical eyes can see. What do you hear? What is coming through our ears and out of our mouths? What do you know? Gods nature is pure and what we know about Him is the key to faith. We have to come to the step where we are not just reading the word but are we applying the word. Are we spending time with God but more than that are we being transformed by His presence. Don’t go into what’s next without finishing what’s now, let’s not be a church that is mostly healed but leaving a foothold for the enemy!…
Read: John 1:9 The first Christmas wasn’t this wondrous occasion full of gifts and celebration but it was a moment where Mary had to reveal some difficult news to Joseph about the miracle baby she was carrying. He didn’t believe her yet he had to submit to obedience when the Lord asked him to trust His plan. The first Christmas was filled with feelings of betrayal and confusion but there was a greater purpose that was about to unfold. Could it be that you are running from something and cursing something that looks like it is from the enemy is actually from God?Being chosen to change the world means that it is a call to change everything we touch, it is a warrior's life, a life filled with the cost of saying no to convenience and yes to Him. Sometimes when we’re chosen to change the world we don’t feel very chosen in the moment. Sometimes in order for God to use a person greatly He has to break them deeply because we are the vessel and He’s the vine and the only way for the snoring comes out is through that crushing. 1. God will always hide us before He uses us. 2. When God gives gifts it doesn’t always evokes praise at first 3. God wraps our gifts in a way that wont be pleasing to man, but when we open them we will see His glory! Many times in life we get jealous of other people’s “gift wrapping” because what we see on the outside is truly not the gift. We need to open the gifts of God because we can enjoy the greatness within. Don’t let the paper it’s wrapped in make us run away from what it is. The enemy will try to distract us with things that glitter but will lead to death, so as a church we are not going to get stuck on the papers of rejection, fear, doubt or pain and we will embrace every gift He has for us!…
Without vision people perish, which means they expire living hopeless lives and many times they end up waiting around dead things expecting it to give them life. Religion is man made and as we go through the motions we might become dry in our faith but as a river of living water Jesus will bring life wherever He shows up. Let’s not be like the people surrounded at the pool waiting for an angel to save them when the one who carries healing we desire,, is in the room waiting to encounter us. We can be people that hear about Jesus but because our eyes are so focused on breakthrough we miss who is right in front of us. When Jesus enters the room: 1) He immediately sees what we need 2) He frees us so that we can free others 3) He sees past our brokenness, Jesus sees revival in us Jesus healing one man in locked revival in everyone else around him. God chooses us because He wants to “empty the pool through our testimony.” As salt and light of this world we are meant to enhance the lives of those around us. If we lose our saltiness we will not be able to produce fruit! The value of salt is that it carries itself as a pure element. We don’t want to tarnish the purity of our Spirits by allowing our Spirits to mix itself with other things. As we have our hearts open we will release control and trust that whatever God wants is where we will go.…
All throughout the Bible God would constantly ask the Israelites to remember. Because sometimes looking back at the things that God got you through can give you the courage and confidence to believe that He’s going to get you through the now. But there are times that the Lord says, “I need you to forget the former things and perceive the new.” If we are looking back we will never be able to move forward into what He’s wanting to do through us. When we start living in a way that fills our house with light, we can be entrusted to change the neighborhood and then the world! The church has buildings but little boldness The church haha numbers but little nerve The church has comfort but little courage The church has status but little spirit The church has prestige but little power The church has knowledge but little wisdom The church has influence but little integrity The church has resources but little resolve The church has activity but little anointing The church has sermons but little sincerity The church has knowledge but little kindness The church has rituals but little relationship The church has tradition but little transformation The church has programs but little purpose God wants a new church come that will not just light a lamp during the day but will burn brightly at night. The talents that God gives us are merely lampstands to show off and reflect His glory so let’s wake up oh sleeper and allow Him to use us as vessels to promote His glory!…
God is everywhere and is not confined to a building because of that we see Jesus at a wedding, where He ends up performing one of His very first miracles. The miracle that turned water into wine wasn’t as simple as Jesus snapping His fingers but instead He gave the servants a process, a series of steps to follow that brings this miracle to pass. Oftentimes this ends up being the case with our own lives; we might be broke and He gives us a process to heal our finances, we might need community and He gives us a process to getting plugged into the family. Here are some things to remember about the process: 1. The process makes no sense as we are supposed to lean not on our own understanding. 2. The process checks our hearts and He will ask us to do things that are questionable in the moment, but will always lead to the miracle 3. The process takes endurance and faithfulness until we see the full picture. Like the ceremonial washing bins, God chooses us as vessels for a miracle not for our cleanliness but for our capacity. And we are asked to keep speaking, keep doing and keep trusting until we see it. We don’t know what we have been given to steward and carry however God chooses us to make wine fine with and all it takes is trusting in the process. God put time into something that in the natural would have taken years but because there was obedience involved it took a matter of hours. We can get discouraged along the journey because it’s taken longer than we thought but let’s take our water to the master so that He can declare over us that the work that Jesus started in us has been complete!…
The 7th hour represents the God hour over our life as 7 is the number of completion. Sometimes in life we find ourselves stuck on a road without end but with, there is always something to expect at the finish line. It's at the 7th hour that miracles take place, it’s where the sun stands still and we see God move. The Roman Official that came to Jesus for a miracle heard the stories but he wasn’t a follower of Jesus yet he came humbly to God as the answer for his heart's cry. What Jesus ended up giving this man was a word, a precious word that was planted on rich soil that then yielded a harvest of a miracle. That one word of God is more than a 1000 words from man. God is trying to deposit life in us but we often fail to listen to what He’s saying to us. He is giving us a word that is active and living and He is marking us with His word. When He speaks, things move and form planets and that same God is speaking to us daily because He wants to produce a harvest in us. Here are some things to consider when God deposits a word in our lives: 1. Is God’s word enough or are we looking for signs? If we’re looking for signs we often times get side tracked by the enemy. 2. His word won’t allow us to camp in the middle of our journey because He is good to his word. 3. The devil plants seeds of death or a weed that produces fruit that he hopes will KILL the promise God spoke over. God speaks in pictures and works in processes. Once you understand the process, the blessings and miracles are infinite. Every single person that held fruit has gone through the whole process of stewarding and cultivating seeds and the process pulls out those weeds that could destroy that good work in our hearts. God will plant His word in the dead parts of our live because it’s those dead things (the manure) that will ultimately give birth to life! Here are some things to know about seeds: • A seed (our dreams) can remain dormant for years • Some seeds (dreams) need winter before the sprout • Soil (our heart) health is more important than you think • Seeds (dreams) need darkness (to be buried) to germinate • Farmers rotate crops (God rotates our dreams) to maintain soil health • Plants (our spirits will protect those dreams) use chemical warfare to survive • Seeds (our dreams) contain all they need to grow • Seed (dreams) spacing is crucial • Not all seeds (dreams) sprout even in perfect condition • Seeds (dreams) respond to gravity, they know which way the roots and shoots need to grow.…
The Lord longs to give us His Holy Spirit power, not just power for selfish gain but power so that we can be a witness in testifying about the truth of God. It’s okay if we don’t have the personality of the prerequisite in our biblical education to do so but all we need is the power to go out and preach this word with our lives. Along with the power we also need to be able to discern where the Holy Spirit is leading us because some things can simply be a good idea instead of a God idea. Sometimes the call of God might lead us to encounter closed doors which is why it is important to start any journey with a revelation from God. Our road might lead us to opposition which does not always mean that God is not in it but a reminder to stand firm on the word He first gave us. The enemy will make us put our faith in fear instead of the plan that God has for us, especially if it is one that requires faith. We might not have the provision or the right relationships but when God says now He means it and He plans to provide for everything! When we are chosen to change the world we have to: 1 Fear God, not Man 2 Shake the dust off my feet and get back up 3 Never let my praise be silenced Fears are proportional to the God we serve, if we serve a little God we will be scared of everything but if we serve a big God we will be scared of nothing. People are yearning for a demonstration of the power of God and we need some believers who will not just know the word but will operate in Dunamis power so that when people hear the teaching and see the move of God they will have no choice but to believe. God's ways are greater than ours and He will allow us to walk through storms, closed doors, miracles, signs and wonders but all these things are only a result of obedience. We might be attacked at our place of greatest value and have to overcome fear to get to the other side but it will all be worth it because God’s word will and always will be true! Application: Has the Fear of Man, fear of failure or the fear of losing what you know to be your life kept you from stepping out into the call that He has for you? Prayer: Father I pray that I will be able to subject myself to your good and perfect will always. I want to get rid of the fear of man and the fear of failure because I know that faith requires obedience and above all, I long to be obedient to your will. Mold me as clay and allow me to become a vessel for your Glory!…
Revelation 3:14-17 Those who God loves, he disciplines through truth in love by giving us an honest picture of our lives. As we continue this series on the churches we see that in everything God says He is longing for intimacy with us. With the church of Laodicea He does commend them for their works but because they were a church that worked hard yet has chosen to be lukewarm, He ultimately rebukes them the most. God addresses the attitude in which they had succumbed to living their lives and implores them to become either hot or cold. Christianity is an all in the way of being, you cannot be halfway in and halfway out and please God. Those that please God through lip service have to have a change in their heart service eventually. The problem with being lukewarm is that God is not lukewarm, He is either healing like the fire or refreshing like a cool spring and that He how He longs for us to be. Here are some ways we can slip into lukewarmness: 1) By becoming disconnected from community we become apathetic and indifferent to people around us 2) By getting overwhelmed or burned we’re either too far ahead or too far behind God. 3) By becoming complacent, we’ve allowed ourselves to become comfortable in life and nothing affects us Becoming lukewarm takes time, it happens over years if we keep going through the motions we end up neglected and dying. All we have been called to do is to tell the world of Jesus and if we can’t do that, there really is no point in us playing the motions of church. We can have joy in the middle of difficult situations if we tune our minds to the words Heaven is speaking over us. Let the Lord redefine us and prune us so that we can become a church that is more zealous about protecting the gospel than protecting culture!…
There is a spirit at work in our modern day culture that has led us into a false theology. We in the western world are not the persecuted church, however we can be a group of people that call Him Lord without submitting to Him in our hearts. There is no qualification in Christ Jesus besides Christ Jesus and we have been asked to practice the word of God that we hear. In order to become a true disciple of Christ there is a level of practice of this relationship that can only come when we are possessed by the will of God. Like the church of Thyatira we can so easily become a church that is great at love without truth and call it tolerance. This allows those inside attacks that destroy us from within to take root! The enemy doesn't mind us building, he just doesn’t want us building on the truth which is the only way to change our lives for His glory. People allow the Jezebel spirit to rule because of Moral Relativism, which states that truth is subjective. We so easily let people believe a truth that they might perceive as absolute because they declare that it is their truth. But God says that He is the absolute truth and in order for us to become the Church of Christ we must display trust in the truth of His word. Here are some indications that we might not be okay with absolute truth: 1) We start looking to other being to justify how we feel listening to false prophets 2) We are unwilling to take the difficult questions up to God because we don’t want to let go of our desires 3) We only give glory to God in moments of victory but we curse him in moments of defeat God is God of love but He is also a good Father and because of that there are some things He asks us to hate. It is for our protection that He asks us to be in the world but not of the world. The lust of the flesh and the pride of life come from the enemy and in order to win at life we need to walk away from things that we desire that are not beneficial to us. We are going to be a church that does the Will of the Father. God has called us to call out those things that are unbiblical and that is what we are going to go!…
Our relationship with God is never about what He can do for us, it should always be about falling more in love with Him. Our earthly actions in attending church, doing ministry or giving to the poor will never get us into heaven, but true intimacy with Him will decide our trajectory. In the book of revelation, Jesus reminds us that it is so easy to become a group of people that are professional Christian’s who maybe look the part, but nothing will matter if we don’t allow ourselves to go back to the basics and to His first love. One of the churches that did do well in His eyes, was the church of Sardis and like that church, if we seek him first and pursue him with a pure heart we can come to a place we will be rich in our spirits. Our prayer needs to be to get back to a raw hunger we used to have for God so that we can give him back something of value at the end. Here are the crowns we can cast at his feet: The crown of life - perseverance The crown of righteousness - those who long for his return The crown of glory - ministering to his sheep Incorruptible crown - running the race with self control Crown of exaltation - winning souls We have to remember that it’s the enemy that is constantly after our faith and our relationship with Christ. As we wrestle with these principalities we have to remain faithful even to the point of death. The Bible says that the righteous receive those crowns as a reward and as those who truly hunger for Him, this is all we should see. None of us want to go to him empty handed so let’s keep that at the forefront of your mind as we continue to persevere in our faith.…
Nowadays there is a lot of talk about auras and vibes and people are constantly complimenting those they meet, on good vibes. But as Christian’s we know that good vibes don’t break yolks the Holy Spirit does so we as a church want to be good stewards of our faith by looking at the Strengths, Weaknesses, Adjustments and Threats of relationship with the Lord. In the last days God reminds us that as pain increases, people are going to have the form of godliness but deny its power. We will have a Church that is trying to look right, sound right and feel right but deep down they are not right. But how are we to heed to this warning? How are we to become the mature church of Jesus Christ who will walk in all that He has for us? 1) We have to try to renew this lifestyle with His word, by putting in the time daily to receive that first hand revelation from Him. 2) We need to operate in real strength which only comes when we can submit to Him even when we don’t understand. 3) We need to be a voice that believes in the future of people, calling them out of where they are to where they are called to be. 4) We need to be dedicated to both seeing people saved as well as discipling those that believe. In the book of revelation the Lord commends the church of Ephesus for being strong and powerful and for building a church in one of the darkest places. Yet in His S.W.A. T (Strengths, Weaknesses, Adjustments and Threats), He shows us that their weakness was that they forgot their first love. We have to be careful at getting so good at practicing the laws and following our dreams that we forget who gave the law and the dreams to begin with. Let’s repent and do what we were called to do when we first met Him. The greatest way to stay in that place of humility is to constantly get around those who are receiving His love for the first time!…
Light shines brightest in the dark and although there might be people that use God’s name invain wanting to get their glory here on earth, there is a group of people who would rather be famous in hell than in anywhere else.Fame is about focusing on yourself whereas influence is about those around you. We should be seeking to help those in every sphere of our lives by pointing them to Jesus. Religion will make us afraid of hell but a relationship with God will make hell more afraid of us so here’s some practical steps on how to walk this walk. 1. Proclaim the gospel boldly and regularly and intentionally. 2. Live out the gospel, let your actions line up with the word. 3. Support the gospel put all your time talent and resources into kingdom things. 4. Speak Truth in love in order to help those around us. 5. Be light in dark places, seek an opportunity to be the beacon of light everywhere you go. 6. Stand firm in your faith and trust god to fight your battles! 7. Confront apathy in your life. 8. Dont be afraid of small days because you never know what it will lead to. 9. Raise the next generation to fear the Lord. We have to realise that we need to stand in the gap for the people of this world. That is the only reason we are alive and in doing that we will end up being famous in Hell even if that means being infamous with those around us and in the world!…
Sometimes our issues can get so big that it consumes who we are and we start to base our identity off of it. But we serve a God who is not only powerful but intentional and He walks slow through a crowd so that we may reach out for Him. Whatever we praise ends up getting magnified in our lives but we have the power to flip that and speak the things God has spoken over our lives! Desperate people do desperate things and when we want him to show up in our lives we have to go to him no matter the cost. 1 God will use desperation to push us into our destiny. 2 Desperation is the door that breakthrough walks through. 3 Desperation will open up doors that complacency will keep shut. 4 Faith is the only thing that activates the miraculous with God Faith needs to be exercised so the more weight we add to our faith, the stronger it grows. The things we go through will give us the strength to believe in something greater. Faith gives us confidence and empowers us to endure even when we want to quit. If faith moves mountains fear creates them but God reminds us that even the faith the size of a mustard seed is enough to move that mountain. Oftentimes God will allow us to watch people get their miracle before us but that waiting season is not a wasted season. If He’s faithful to them He will be faithful to us! Both Jairus and the Woman needed a miracle and where the woman received a healing, Jairus ended up receiving something greater: a resurrection!…
In part two of this sermon, Pastor Jeremy Johnson talks about how the enemy has taken out kings and monarchs so it is unwise to think that we could stand our ground without putting on the full armor of God daily. There is a day of evil coming and we have a ground to stand on, the ground God has given us specifically to fight for. We think that we are fighting the good fight of faith when we are advancing but sometimes it’s a victory to just be standing. The very fact that we are not retreating means that we get to boldly declare that we are still here, in His presence trusting that we will make it through another day. All of us, no matter who we are, will have Goliath attacks: problems that seem to be there from when we wake up to when we go to sleep. The word “Goliath” means to remove or take away so maybe for some of us the enemy keeps taking away our peace or our finances or our future but whatever the spiritual battle looks like, the only way to conquer it is by doing the following: 1. Pick up Courage: the revelation that we have a problem but we are in it with God 2. Instead of looking at Goliath as an obstacle we can view him as an opportunity. 3. Be careful to sidestep the step that will lead to the moment of victory Our praise today validates that everything the enemy threw at us in the past had no effect on us, so we can shout in all freedom. Our praise might require some work as we have to till the dry ground in order to take, but before we plant any more hopes or dreams on that ground let’s remove the thorns through surrender. Only then will we see the harvest we are looking for. Don’t let the enemy take a stronger stand against you on your ground!…
The christian life isn’t a playground, it's a battleground and there is a constant spiritual warfare that is taking place. The attack on our lives is proof that we’re going the right direction but the good news we can stand on is that the fight is not even, the enemy is no threat to our God and there is already a victory that has been won. In those moments there is only one place that strength comes from and that is being covered in the Lord. Know that if Satan is attacking us it’s only because God’s allowing it and that there is nothing that happens apart from God. But by facing the attack and overcoming the onslaught we get to help someone else do the same. There are three things required to face the battle: 1 Filling ourselves up with the word which is the Truth of God. 2 Standing firm in the peace of God which can only come when we pursue His presence 3 Picking up our Faith and linking it with someone else's. The armor of God isn’t just a nice picture that Paul is trying to paint for us but he is reminding us that in order to win this fight we have to have a mindset of salvation, a heart that is righteous and have the truth of the written word holding us together. If you’re not spending time with the word we will not get the Rhema or revelation that represents the sword of Spirit to cast down the demonic attack. Our faith at times can be a burden to bear but in order to stop the attack we need to link ourselves with someone else and stand together against whatever is coming towards us and it is the faith from someone else that will help lift you up when you feel surrounded by the enemy! Application: Where have you left your faith and how can you begin to pick it up again? Do you feel like you need to link up with someone else's faith in order to overcome what’s coming against you?Prayer: Father, remind me that the fight is not against flesh and blood but against the principalities and powers of this world. As I run to you I know that you will throw down the enemy and help me overcome all that I face. Unite us in this body and help my faith be the shield that someone needs in a battle against their life. In Jesus name Amen!…
Gentleness and Kindness might seem like obvious traits to operate in but there is something deeper in how God views these fruits. People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. No matter how much we know about Jesus, it is not until we can look like Him, act like Him and be like Him that we will see them respond to Him through our lives. It is very common in our day and age to claim something and not live it but people are simply wanting us to live out what we are speaking about. The gentleness & kindness that we display in our relationships will truly determine how people view the love of God.Nothing the Lord does is accidental or unintentional so why does He ask us to walk in these attributes? God asks us to walk in meekness and humility (gentleness) and grace and integrity (kindness), because as a society we get so focused on having a right to do something but we need to be more concerned about doing what is right in the Lord’s eyes. There are moments we think we have the right to be angry or the right to walk in our flesh but the bible encourages us to lay down our lives and pick up our crosses. 1) We can do the right things on paper but people discern if our hearts were joyful in the action. 2) If something is a part of our personalities, we have the power to change it. 3) Being kind and gentle will always give God all the glory. There is an aspect of living this life that God is calling us to give without expecting anything in return. The Fruit of the Spirit allows us to to live a life surrendered to the service of others, without manipulation or expectation. The world is often telling us that it’s good to be nice but Jesus isn’t just telling us to be nice to one another, He is asking us to ultimately love our enemy as an act of ultimate obedience to God. God has already paid the price for the broken people of this world, all He asks of us is to be a group of people that would tend to their wounds and help restore them back to who He calls them to be! Application: What are some ways that you can start to operate in gentleness and kindness in the relationships and human interactions you come across daily? Prayer: Father, I pray that I will be gentle and kind in all circumstances. I long to love on the broken people of this world as a service unto you. Break my heart for what breaks yours and allow me to be an open vessel of your love today!…
Read Ezekiel 37:1-11 There are ministries that come and go as times pass by because the anointing oil, the outpouring of God's presence was something that was not sought after daily. If our lives have gotten boring, the beauty is that we can get that fire back in our bones by earnestly seeking His presence. Getting fresh oil in our life means getting a new attitude and positioning ourselves in a way that the Hand of God can come upon us, it’s a constant posture of gratitude and worship instead of whining and complaining. All of us are always being updated by God as everytime we get plugged into Him we are not only getting recharged but we are getting renewed into the image of Him. However most of us are more interested in his hand than his face so instead of seeking him for his blessings it’s when we seek Him for Him that we will experience fresh oil. The encounter happens when we realise that: 1] Prayer isn't about praying, it’s about being in a relationship. 2] We won’t be in control when God is moving 3] When you take steps towards Him, God moves in As Chrisitans we will end up either becoming fountains of living water or drains. We want to be a group of people that give life to those around us because we are called to be salt and light in this world. When we are carried away in the presence of the Lord we step back with more joy, love and a renewed sense of life! Maybe God will fill us up and drop us into a valley but it's only because He is now equipping us to be people that will prophesy life into dry bones! Application: Have you been satisfied with yesterdays oil? When was the last time you sought God’s presence just to be with Him? Prayer: Lord here I am, to be still and know that you are God. I give this moment to you, without all distraction. Meet me and encounter me here and renew the fresh oil in this heart…
When Jesus walked through the earth He did so with the intention of being an example for how to live life with the Spirit. The fruit of our spirit is not something that just appears during times of trouble but cultivated daily so that people around us will be able to have access to someone that has joy, peace, kindness, faithfulness and so forth. Apostle Paul tells us in Galatians that there is a constant battle between the flesh and the spirit and all of us Christians should try our best to live by the spirit and not by the flesh. When we think about faithfulness it can be broken down into a simple equation of Faithfulness being a result of character, stewardship and longevity. These three things being different from those that are out there in the world will help people identify that we carry the faithful love of Jesus. 1. Character is not something that is a front but it is who you are in every aspect of our lives, both seen and unseen. It’s what allows us to live life with integrity. 2. Stewardship requires us to act in obedience and not in comparison. Each of us has been given a portion and we are expected to multiply that portion based on our time, talent and treasure. 3. Longevity requires us to see things through consistently over an extended period of time. It's being able to tap into a supernatural source to go through life without burning out. We are not called to be perfect and we should never allow that to discourage us but everyday of this life we should be trying to look more like Jesus. We are called to live a life that is not easily discredited and the good news is that we can. So what does the fruit of faithfulness look like in our lives? Maybe it’s us just making it into church through tough circumstances, maybe it’s worshiping God through some painful moments. Jesus is faithful to us despite our unfaithfulness and He has given us the ability to do the same!Application: Is there an area of your character, how you steward or your ability to endure that can be worked on today? Prayer: Father, I long to be a faithful follower of your will and your word. I understand that it is easy to give into our flesh and ask for things that we want but more than the desires of my flesh I long to live a life that is worthy of you. Help me endure in faithfulness and help me develop my character, become a good steward of these resources and to have longevity in this race! In Jesus name Amen…
Many times in the Bible we have examples of Jesus was walking through life and walking through crowds. It’s not that he was lazy but he was trying to model a lifestyle where we get to work out of a place of patience and rest. When we pray, “God I want all that you have for me.” Do we consider what that statement means? We like to think that if things are good they are from God but there are moments that God allows opposition to slow us down. Opposition can feel like it was sent to destroy us but in fact the Lord allows those things to develop us. Instead of being angry at God we need to start getting a perspective that the attack is a compliment that we are going in the right direction in life. Patience encourages us to: 1. Be faithful in what we’re doing. 2. To trust God especially when we don’t understand. 3. To pursue God and operate out of a place of rest. If we can be present and wait for what God has for us we will find that a lifestyle of rest in Jesus which will ultimately yield the greatest form of trust. When we continue to rush through life it shows our lack of contentment but God is longing to change all of that. Our situations can be a lot but it does not give us the permission to doubt and curse God, instead through patience we can praise Him every step of the way. Application: How do we begin to trust God when the waiting has been more than just one night? Do we understand that God is not done with us yet? Prayer: Father I pray that you give me patience to go through this life. I understand that in this season you are developing me and making me whole. I long to trust you without doubts plaguing me and I pray that I will fix my eyes solely on you and not the things of this life! In jesus name, amen!…
Jesus walks through the garden of our lives and he reaches in to see if there is fruit. Sometimes we advertise that we are fruit bearing believers but when the Lord looks for it, He might not find anything. God prunes us because that is a part of Him extending His grace towards us. God is constantly trying to remind us of how far we have come, especially if we’ve allowed life to make us stingy with our praise and generosity! God didn’t need Mary’s worship just like He doesn’t need one more voice to fill the choir of heaven, but He honored Mary because she understood what time it was and who it was that she was honoring. If everything in this life belongs to God, there is absolutely nothing that did not come from the generosity of God including the breath in our lungs. With this resource all He is asking is that we take care of His bride and we as believers will take care of what he loves the most for the following reasons: 1) How much we’ve been loved will determine how much we love. 2) It’s not that we don’t have a seed to sow, it's that most of us are sowing it in the wrong place. 3) God doesn’t want our money, He is only after our hearts!Stewardship is all a test and God is looking for people that are willing to trust him with taking care of their lives. If we sow our seed in the right soil it produces a tree that produces fruit that continue to carry seeds. When we sow something it gives it the potential to bear fruit that will continue to bless us in the future. So if we want more seed in our lives, let's begin to sow what we have into God and all that He loves. Our God did not hold back when He gave all of heaven to save us so in return, let’s become a group of people that give him everything!…
There comes a point in life when we realize that we cannot control anyone other than ourselves and we need to develop our weaknesses into strengths. If our self control starts in our minds then we need to become masters of what thought patterns are cycling through them and by living out the fruit of the spirit, its evidence will convict those around us! Sometimes the things we choose to do might not be sinful but we do need to ask the question if it was helpful or beneficial. We need to live to a standard that raises the people around us also to a new level. We need to look at every area of our lives when it comes to discipline because everything we have been given is for others and not for us. 1. Self control and discipline is a way we get to honor God. 2. Discipline in one area will bleed into other areas. 3. There are consequences to a lack of self control and can cost you your call We need to take ownership and authority over our minds, our mouths and our actions. If we are more concerned about what people see instead of what God sees we have completely missed the point. If we continue to live a life that pleases our sinful nature eventually it ends up feeling right. But the Bible doesn’t tell us to follow our flesh, it asks us to crucify it and we need to be people who pursue that discipline till the end. Jesus himself displayed the greatest moment of self control by dying on the cross for us and He did so that we have a model to look at as we are on this journey! Application: What are some areas that you lack self control that you need to be made obedient to Christ? Prayer: Father I ask that you help me self control and discipline. I long to please you in every area of my life so I ask that you help me strengthen and work on my weaknesses so that I continue to look like you!…
God loves us for who we are and not what we can give him. He loves us even when we don’t produce but sometimes we get distraught over the problems that are inside of us and we, just like Hannah, can have everything we want and still be unhappy. When we don’t love the person God created us to be we will never be satisfied. We think material and earthly things bring value to who we are but all the Lord is wanting us to do is be at perfect peace with who we are. Here’s why we need to press into God now more than ever: 1) If we live life vertically focusing on God, it will be our best year. 2) Whatever we lost we didn’t need. 3) If we focus on what isn’t perfect, we miss what is good.…
Pastor Christy Johnson preaches a message "Kingdom Scales: Worth The Weight". When we ask God to use our lives, what we don’t realize we are asking for is for the Lord to prepare us. We are going to have to go through some moments of pressing and pruning which end up being quite painful but instead of complaining when those things happen let's aim to become people of prayer! The weight of God’s glory on our lives might not happen easily but it will happen faithfully and that glory will always be worth the wait. We cannot abort the assignment because on the other side of our faithfulness we will experience the beautiful birth of something impactful.…
Read: Matthew 5: 14-16 | Proverbs 23:7 | John 7:22 | 2 Timothy 2 As we continue to dive deeper into our walk with God we realize that Church is not a hiding place but a rallying place to get fired up for the next mission Our only objective in life is that people discover Jesus so how we represent Him is going to be more effective out in the world that inside the walls of the church. In order to complete this mission we have to stand on the truth that we are both kings in ruling but also kings in waiting, so as we are expectant to God to take us to that “next big thing” we can still influence the atmosphere of where we are at. Here are some things to think about as we continue to reflect the light of Christ: 1 Sometimes our lack of promotion is just a season of preparation. 2 To bring glory means to excel in whatever it is we do and that excellence will speak to people. 3 We have to be overt and covert at the same time. It’s our mandate to change this city and to change this country for the Lord. A city on a hill cannot be hidden the word says, which means that if each of us collectively shine the light that has been given us, together we make a massive impact on the darkness that surrounds us. We often feel ineffective because we are isolated but look around you and see that you have been placed in a body that is running this race alongside you! Application - Where are you positioned: a job, your family, your friends. How can you begin to bring that unique light into their lives? Prayer - Father help me reflect the light of Jesus on to those around me. I pray that I will excel in all the skills you have given me and in that process that I will bring you utmost glory. Help me see this season of preparation as the training grounds for what you have in store for the future! In Jesus Name!…
Our dreams can never know the power of resurrection unless they experience some sort of death. All of us want to live but very few of us want our dreams to die and in this walk we find that if they die they actually go into His hands and in His hands there is resurrection power. In order to share in his blessings we have to choose to share in his suffering! It’s his humanity that draws us closer to him but it’s his divinity that transforms the humanity in us and this transformation is the “process” that we all go through. The process is painful but here are somethings that we can take heart in knowing: Even Jesus prayed to forfeit the process before the promise, but in that prayer He chose God’s way! The pain will only affect one person but the process will birth something that will impact the lives of many. Jesus passed the test because He knew that God was ordering His steps. He clung to trust even when pain was imminent. All of us must go to the wilderness alone and it’s there that we will get prepared and tested. The enemy will test us with our own promises without a process. The cost of the process is worth everything, just like the pain of labor is worth the baby in the end. So know that the steps give you the strength to hold the promise in the end. Jesus defeated the devil on the mountain but He fought the flesh in the garden. The ultimate fight is with ourselves but He shows us that the flesh can be conquered! Application -How can you begin to give God worship through the steps your on? Can you choose God’s way over your way today? Prayer - Father, the process has been painful. But I long to join in the suffering of Christ so that I may know the joy at the end. I worship and honour you for being God. Thank you for holding my life in your hands and for never giving into prayers that would help me cut corners in life. I give you my dreams and life knowing full well that you will lead me every step of the way. Amen…
When we accept Jesus into our hearts we’re not waiting for anointing to hit us but we now become carriers of His Spirit. The heart is the center of our life and when we invite him into the center, this life is no longer subject to our old ways but it is now subject to His rule. By accepting Jesus we are saying yes to receiving all power, all authority and all of heaven that is waiting to back you up. This is what Jesus was trying to say when He said that we have been given the keys to the Kingdom. But sometimes we run into walls in this walk of faith and we begin to question that authority. 1. A wall is not an offensive weapon, it is a defensive tactic. If we've hit a wall it's not because the devil advanced on us but it's because you've advanced on him. 2. When we’ve reached the end of our faith it simply means we have come to the beginning of His 3. The enemy will lie to us from behind the wall and the only way to use the keys is to use God’s word. The truth of His word will set us free. God wants to release His power in our lives, He wants His anointing that rests on to change nations. Jesus picked up the keys to death hell and the grave which He gave back to us in the form of salvation. We no longer have to shout down walls but we get to pick up the keys by opening the word and praying it over our homes and watch the power of heaven release us from our cages. Let’s not be Christians in cages for one more day, let's choose to be renewed and restored from now on! Application: Have you run into walls with your life: with your faith, your life, your relationships, your ministries. How can you begin to unlock those cages with the truth? Prayer: Father, protect my heart from the lies that the enemy has been whispering over me. As I’ve come to this wall in my life, remind me of the truth so that I may declare it. I no longer have to live with this oppression because victory was won on that cross! Thank you Lord for leading me to your truth!…
Read- Isaiah 43:18 Acts 2:17-21 Revelation 12:7-12 Revelation 1:14 Revival starts when you catch a new vision of the same old situation. As we prepare to take ground, the most important thing on this journey would be to forget the former things and focus in on what God is doing right here, right now. This fresh vision of our lives will open up our hearts to a move of God like never before and we are to be a church that is building the kingdom wherever we go, we need to remember the following: It is the power of the blood and the power of our testimony that will cause the shift in pain. People don’t connect to our promise they connect to our pain, like a puzzle piece, it's what was broken and missing in us that has created a space for someone to partner with us in life. God is bringing us to the dark places to bring the water out of us to bless those around us. Those rivers of living water will be more of a miracle when they come forth in a dry and desert place. We will never step out if we don't know who is with us, all of Heaven is backing us up and that should give us the boldness to preach revival. God came upon the heroes of faith so that they can carry the anointing into every situation. But unlike the heroes of the past, we have that anointing living within us and it has nothing to do with us! We need to know how powerful our God is and then we need to know how much He loves us. We take all God’s power away if we continue to hate ourselves and if we cannot see that this all powerful God has left the powers of the universe to rest his hands on us we will forfeit this race. Revival is here and it starts with us! Application: Can we stop looking into the past and press into the future? If there past miracles and great moments in your life that have maybe turned into idols then ask the Lord to give you a fresh vision of the future today! Prayer: Father I pray that revival will break out in me today. I long to be used by you, at this moment. You’re not waiting for perfection because you are perfect. If it is a move of God it will only happen through broken vessels and the foolish things of this world. I ask that you move me out of the way so that you can reach the world around me, through me. In Jesus name!…
Read- Revelation 12:7 Luke 8:39 Titus 3:3 Colossians 3 We have to remember that more than just one man speaking from a pulpit, there is power in the word of our testimonies. When Legion was saved he wanted to follow Jesus but instead of going with Him he was asked to return home and proclaim the goodness of God. It’s time for us to go back to the place where we were broken so that we can proclaim the truth of Jesus and the power of His salvation. Here’s why our testimony is important: God took the wages of sin that were piled up against us and he justified us by his grace to allow us step into a purpose that is greater than we can possibly imagine. The ark of the covenant used to be something that held the presence of God but now we are the ark of God, we have a story to tell. Religion has become the chains of bondage instead of sin but let’s witness through the Holy Spirit to those around us and help break the Spirit of Religion off. We worship gifted people when our gifts are simply tools to build the house and to shine His light. Work on your gift, cultivate it but ask him to help you use it to honor Him . Jesus was about the Fathers business, that was his ultimate testimony. We are the arks that touch the city and we don’t need a mic to testify. Go get people saved and then invite them to church! Application - How can you share your testimony with someone this week? Prayer - Father give me the courage to share my testimony with those around me. I pray that you use every tool I have at my disposal to spread the truth of what you have done in my life.…
Amos 9:12-5 Matthew 10: 29-31 Luke 12:6-7 Back in the day the sparrow was a pest in their towns and homes. It would build nests where it wasn’t supposed to, it was too quick to be caught, however there are places in the bible that the Lord tries to remind us about our worth through the picture of a Sparrow. The sparrow is both vigilant and joyful. God is looking for some people who are both stubborn and joyful, stubborn for the right things like the presence of God and joyful because of the fruit of the Spirit. 1. It’s because we are so fearful of other things but God, that we get angry and frustrated over our lives. When we are in awe of God it replaces all other awes! 2. Vigilance and Joy can be found in a firm foundation of the valley, the mountain top, in the presence of my enemies, the green pastures because God is everywhere. 3.The sparrow is a reminder of not who you are but whose you are. While people overlook the sparrow the Lord looks over it. Let’s focus on the nature and character of God and begin to enter His presence! If a pest can live in our house rent free, trusting and living their lives because the Father who loves ALL takes care of them, how can we not believe that we are in good hands? God has not passed us over but he continues to push us forward in His plan. Run to him to receive that revelation and He will give you all you need! Application: Have you been feeling overlooked and forgotten? Do you have a hard time trusting God with the details of your life? How can you take one step closer to His truth today? Prayer: Father, how comforting it is to know that you are the Lord of a sparrow. I have failed to grasp the truth that I am worth anything to you so help me get to know you, so that I may see your character and nature and know in my heart that no matter where life takes me, I can trust you always!…
Amos 9:13-15 Isaiah 60:1-3 Matthew 5:13 Micah 7:8 God is doing something with what you called dirt. There is going to come a time when the harvest is going to surpass the harvesters. We might be walking through a season of life that currently looks like dirt, this might lead us to look at the glory days that have passed and idols what the Lord has done, but God is wanting to remind His church that He is doing a new thing and here’s why: In the darkest times He longs to shine His light through us. The light of the Lord is violent against the darkness so instead of hiding that light, He wants us to be a city on a hill. The greatest burden, the greatest mission and the greatest passion should be to light the candle in our home. God told us that we are like salt, and just like salt we will never expire, never be able to get rid of our essence. In His hands we can be used to heal, to redeem, to restore and to enhance His will. Many people have misunderstood the parable about the Salt. Jesus did not make a mistake when He said salt that loses its saltiness is worthless because the reality is that salt can scientifically never go bad. Just like that there isn't any expiration date on salt and there is no expiration date on your call. No matter how bad your life has been, you will always be valuable in the hands of God! Application: How can you begin to let the essence of God shine through you where He has placed you? Prayer: Lord because you have called me to be the salt and the light, help me embrace the reality of who I am. I am not to be hidden and forgotten, my purpose will not expire no matter what anyone says. Help me advance your kingdom and change the atmosphere of every setting you place me in, because that is what you’ve already called me to be!…
In this season God is done calling us into the shallow. He doesn't care if you just got saved or if you're struggling with sin. He is not calling everyone of us to the deep because what we need it but because the food we need is in the deep end. Here are some things to consider with your relationship with God: God will always be able to use whatever you put before Him. But in order to see the fullness of God youwill need to give all of you. We need to replace our fear of man with the fear of the Lord. Only then will we be able to live a life free to operate in the authority He's given us. God emptied heaven to gain intimacy with us, although we've been fasting making room in our lives for His love will be the most fulfilling thing we do. There will always be two types of people: Sauls or Peters. The difference between the two was this: one dealt with that fear of man the other dealt with immaturity and the pride of man. One repented and the other had a rebuttal. Remember that the same sun that melts wax hardens clay, so what will be your response when the Lord calls you to a greater level of intimacy with Him! APPLICATION: What would you pray for if you knew that God was backing your words from heaven? How different would your life be if you knew that everything you spoke had authority and weight. You can get that way if you allow God to be the number one priority in your life! PRAYER: Father I'm asking you to take me deeper. Forgive me for any area of disobedience in my heart, I know you've asked for all of me and I may have only let you in on some of my heart. I want all of me to be consumed by all of you!…
Luke 1:13-20 We live in a day and age where there are many things that come against us. However, just like the seven sons of Sceva we might go after strongholds thinking we have the authority only to realise that we don’t. The only way to become a generation that walks in releasing the power of God is to remember the following: We can’t get authority from God if we don’t have intimacy with God. We need a generation who know how to linger in the presence of God.3. Vision will come when we stand in the presence of God. Our identity and our authority should be the result of our intimacy with the Lord whereas our doubts and fears will be a manifestation of our distance from Him. So wherever you are today on your journey, press into His presence and ask the Lord to teach you how to spend time with Him!Application: Do you find yourself rushing out of the presence of God? When was the last time you sat and lingered in His presence?Prayer: Father, teach me how to sit with you. I long to be beside you and I’m sorry for the letting life’s distractions get in the way of intimacy with you. Give me eyes to see and ears to hear your still small voice, and help me draw closer to you daily!…
The church is so powerful because it is through our unity that we get to bombard hell with the power and the authority the Lord has given us to overcome strongholds. When Peter was in prison the church prayed very earnestly for him and although they were uncertain of what was gonna happen they were going to pray and believe and trust that God will come through. Prayer moves through time and space and moves through all natural boundaries so that God can meet His super with our natural. Here are some reasons as to why we pray together: We pray when there is nothing else we can do in the natural We pray so that we can carry each other’s burdens We pray so that we can attack the problem before it attacks us.We might have to keep contending and we might have to keep pursuing Him but we intercede until He intervenes. Keep praying because we could be one prayer away from praying the walls down. Most people lust after the picture of the promise but want nothing to do with the process of what it takes to get to that place, so let’s let the power of prayer transform us today!Application - Do you have a hard time praying both by yourself and corporately? How can you begin to build up a habit of prayer in your life?Prayer - Father help me stay persistent in prayer. Let me see how incredibly powerful the weapon of prayer is and show me how to wield it consistently in my life. I long to pray with power and authority because as children of God, prayer needs to be our source! In Jesus name, Amen.…
Read - 1 Corinthians 13:11 Ephesians 6:10 Genesis 1:1-31, 2:8-25God made the environment and then He places the things that need to survive in that environment. When He created Eden He created us after, to place us in that environment because that is the thing we needed the most. Like a fish out of water we will not survive out of His presence. The enemy does everything he can to get us out of the environment we were designed to be in, because we are made from dirt and spirit there’s a constant battle between our flesh and our spirit. That battle is won in the mind and in order to win we must put aside the following childish thought patterns: Personalizing Everything - Not everyone is mad at you. Magnifying Thoughts - Making mountains out of mole hills. Everything is Awful - Expecting the worst out come. Jumping to Conclusions - Assuming the end result. Mind Reading - Thinking that you know other’s motives. Negative Filters - Using the lenses of past hurts. Emotional Reasoning - Letting your emotions be your guide. Blame Game - When it’s everyone else’s fault but yours Selective Thinking - Picking and choosing your narrative 10. Closed Minded - Seeing things only your way.Prayer is the one thing that can change our thoughts because in prayer we get to put on the mind of Christ. Prayer is learned by praying and it takes persistence from us in order to yield results. It is in prayer that we enter Eden which is God’s open door into His presence. As we renew your minds in His word we will find our whole life changing!Application - What are some childish thought patterns that you need to break from your thinking? How can you begin to pray into a new direction today?Prayer - Father as I go on this journey to mature in my Spirit, I ask that you reveal all childish thoughts that are deeply rooted within my heart. Give me the courage to face my immaturities and allow you to prune and grow me. I pray that I will begin to put aside childish ways and stand firm in your truth today!…
Read- Ephesians 2:1-22 Ecclesiates 6:1-12 Romans 11:29 Pslams 78:41 God has a plan even for the most broken parts of us since Day 1. The only thing the Lord asks of us to take care of though, is what He has given us. God gives us a destiny but He asks us to be a part of the destiny He has for us. We are the only ones that can limit God in our lives, but in 2024 what if we removed those limitations and watch God do the impossible! What you decide to do will be based on the vision you have for your life. God makes us master creators because we are His masterpiece To create room for God thoughts you have to bring all other thoughts to His throne Between your call and your destiny are choices that build your character. Growing up means we put away toys and pick up tools! It’s time for us to be people that are real, that have Holiness and are shaped after His character. Only then can we hold the weighty destiny that He has for us. God doesn’t want us to burn and fizzle out but He’s wanting us to leave a legacy. God is calling us into maturity this year as a group of believers so let's make that decision as a family today! Application: What are some decisions you have to make that will help your character transform to look more like Jesus? Prayer: Father I’m thankful that in this New Year, I can truly become a new version of me. I’m praying for new thoughts, new visions and I’m asking that you develop the fruit of my Spirit so that I can develop the character necessary to hold the destiny that you have for me!…
Read Jeremiah 29:11 John 11:1-27 2023 has been a year filled with triumphs and trials, but as we step into the New Year there is something we need to be sure of: “Are you a believer in crisis?” We know what we love to do when Jesus answers our prayers, but what do we do when we go through trials? No one posts about the bad things, we focus on the highlights of our relationship with God. But what happens when you pray and fast and He doesn’t answer in the time that you were expecting. In 2024 we are aiming to remember these truths: Delay is not Denial it is in fact the very thing that will reveal the Destiny of our lives We can muster a “Even Now” faith that stands on the truth of who God is instead of the frustration we feel at His delay. Our tears water the seed and connect us to one another, but our testimony will bring new life to all those who need to hear it! Let's lead the Lord to the place where our faith died so that He can show us the truth of who He is. We might have prayed a dangerous prayer like “God use my life” and now we have to wait through broken dreams. But God will never fail of His promise of a Hope and a Future for our lives. For the believer, a certain death is not the end; it's merely a graduation of our Faith! Application - What are some dreams that have died in your life? Can you believe that even now God can come through for you? How can you lead Him to that place of pain, so that He can restore you today? Prayer - Father, I thank you that you are God who has good plans for me. Although I thought that I was overlooked, forgotten or left to mourn the loss of my dreams, I thank you that even now, your word can go forth and bring new life in me. I believe that your timing is perfect and that has in fact been no delay. I pray that my testimony brings you all the glory and I stand on your miraculous move today!…
GALATIANS 5:1-26 | MATTHEW 7:3-5 Although Christianity is classified as a religion, the Jesus we know did not come to start a religion. Jesus was not talking to His disciples about a religion, He used every parable to teach us about family and to represent relationship. As children of God we need to be careful because we start with relationship and somewhere down the line we all fall into religion. Here are a few ways to catch our religious mindsets: Remember that we have so much to work on in ourselves that we don't need to judge anyone else. Removing the plank in your own will give you clarity and the vision of love. Removing the plank is hard work but you have to be prepared to do it. God set us free from the law, for us to pursue freedom and the fruit of the spirit. Done focus on not sinning but focus on the freedom that God have us go step into the throne room of grace. The world and the church love to condemn those that pursue Christ. So if you ever feel like stepping out in judgment ask yourself how criticising someone is loving them. APPLICATION: Have you been judgemental lately? Thinking things like "this sermon is perfect for__" How can you begin to repent and ask God to speak to the areas of your heart that need strengthening today! PRAYER: Father forgive me for my flesh and my judgemental heart. I ask you to reveal the planks in my eyes so I can continue see your love more clearly. In Jesus name, amen.…

1 TIMOTHY 6:6-11 | EXODUS 16:16 | 1 SAMUEL 16: 11-13 | NUMBERS 17:32-36 A sense of contentment bleeds into every aspect of how we operate in this life. It's possible for us to be set free but desire to go back to our old lives simply because it's comfortable! God is okay with the moments of doubt if we can overcome with Faith in knowing who He is. There are many reasons why we can get discontented in this life so here are three traps of discontentment. Discontentment clouds our judgement 2. Discontentment convinces us that what we have is never enough 3. Discontentment doesn't give us time to rest The enemy is constantly trying to get us to control our circumstances when the Lord is only wanting us to be in control of our contentment. Here are the three things to know about contentment: Contentment brings favor 2. Contentment brings confidence 3. Contentment brings clarity When we get used to just "enough" we will be excellent with all we have in front of us. We won't need armor to slay giants because we know that God can use us with what we have in our hands. Remember we can be expectant but remain content in every season as we trust in the Lords timing! Application - We can be accepted by God but rejected by man. It's one or the other but which one are we pursuing? What we pursue will determine where our contentment lies. Prayer - Father I long for you not just to be my savior but for you to be Lord over my life. I want to fix my eyes on you so that I can be content in every season. Remove all the worldly distractions and help me take all thoughts of discontentment captive!…
PHILLIPIANS 4:4-13 | ROMANS 8:38 | 1 TIMOTHY 6:6 | 2 CORINTHIANS: 11:23-30 Discouragement is like a downhill walk, it doesn't take much effort and you barely notice how far you've walked until you realize that there is a moment that you might have to turn around and trek up back hill. But the beautiful thing is God want's to give you the priceless possession of Joy, something that no matter what life may throw at you, it won't be able to steal from you. Here are some things to remember about a state of discontentment: The devil is after your worship, and discontentment is a lack of worship Satisfaction lies in the fact that in Jesus, you have it all. God provides a way out of discontentment by giving us His strength to lean on. The secret to contentment is having awareness of Him in every situation. Discontentment is a manifestation of pride in our lives and it was that pride that made the great heroes of faith turn their back on God only to realize that He was all they needed at the bottom. Remember one day we will be worshiping Him and not showing off our trophies in Heaven, but we don't have to wait to get to Heaven to find the treasure of life right here, right now. APPLICATION - Your contentment is a matter of pursuit, so take a moment to look at what you are chasing that you already possess! PRAYER - Father, I know that you have already given me the greatest treasure in life. Thank you for the gift of your relationship. Help me pursue you today in spirit and in truth, show me glory so that I can see that I'm not missing anything in life.…
Read- Proverbs 14: 30 Philippines 4:4-13 1 Timothy 6:6-12The enemy wants to rob you of now. He wants to empty today by causing you to worry about tomorrow, but a heart at peace is what we need to long for, because what we go through emotionally will affect you physically!Your pain gives you power to preach more effectively if you can learn to be content at “empty”. Because if you can’t be content at the end you will never be content at full. Because it’s not about being filled it’s about being fulfilled. Here are four things to know about contentment:Contentment must be learned. Contentment is a choice. You can have contentment on empty Contentment is the good fight of faithThe only thing that can bring you contentment is not found here. When we leave this world we will not be taking anything with us, but a change in our focus will allow us to make it through this life.Don’t beat yourself up for being discontent, but ask God to help you see the things you can be grateful for in this moment, and you can rejoice like the wordApplication - What are some areas in your life that you have envy and discontentment? What can you be thankful for instead in your life?Prayer - Father, I’m so grateful for the life you have given me. Allow me to see all that you’ve already set your hand to in my life because I know that everything has purpose! I discard discontentment from my life and I choose to fix my eyes on you! In Jesus name.…
Have you ever had a small wound that hurt a lot more than you think it would? Have you heard the statement "time heals all wounds?" The reality is time heals surface level scratches but time does not heal anything that cut deep. If we are not intentional about our healing, we will only sit there with an open festering wound. In order for us to have a Sound of Freedom, we must go through the Process of Healing. "Stop the bleeding" - pressure from the right covering and leadership will help you stop the initial bleeding of a wound. Come as you are but don't live that way when God has called you to freedom! "Remove the Junk" - this looks like forgiving those that hurt us. We carry unforgiveness to a point that allows our wounds to fester! Instead of blaming others let's ask God for what He's doing in that situation! "Full the void" - God wants to fill you with new life. He wants us to become whole so that we can be full of His purposes. "The Maturing Begins" - this is when the covering comes off, because to complete your healing you need honesty and vulnerability with the right people. APPLICATION- have there been areas in your life that you have refused healing? Can you embrace the pain today and allow yourself to finally move forward in life! PRAYER- Father, search my heart and create are a right Spirit within me. Surround me with the right people that will help my healing process, but ultimately lead me to you and your truth. I no longer want to live this way, I need your help and I need your guidance. In Jesus Name!…
Read Matthew 24:10-13 Proverbs 18:19 Luke 17:6 John 15:15In the last days there will be many people who will start getting offended and end up hating those around them. Everyone thinks betrayal is like Judas betraying Jesus but in reality, we begin to betray those we’re in relationship with, as the beginnings of self-protection. Offense is the bait of Satan that is meant to pull you, the believer, into his captivity. Here are some things that happen with offense: Your roots do not stop growing. Offense never shrinks when left alone. Offense feeds from a source. If you’re watering your hurt, it’ll keep rising up. It kills your potential. If you don’t kill offense, it will kill you. It produces bitter fruit. What’s inside will eventually come out. It doesn’t matter if it’s a small thing, deal with it now because it will bring division! Christianity involves us being in relationship with the one who let go of ALL offenses that we cast on Him. And by breathing we will have every opportunity to be offended but instead of getting bitter, let’s make up our mind to get better. Don’t waste your life, forgive, let go, and let His light shine through your pain.Application: Ask God to search your heart in this moment. Are there an hidden offenses that you need to deal with?Prayer: Lord, I pray that you pull out the root of this offense. I don’t want my love to grow cold so help me forgive those that have hurt me so that I can walk in freedom. Protect my heart from the bait of Satan, that is offense, and cover me with your love today! In Jesus name, Amen.…
Acts 3:1-12 NKJV | Acts 3:16 NKJV | Acts 4:1-14 NKJV The Holy Spirit does not inhabit someone that is dead. He longs for his body (the church) to come alive because it was for life that He gave His own. When religious spirits tell you to turn it down, the Holy Spirit reminds us that the rocks will cry out! Here are some reasons to rebuke a religious spirit: Religious spirits will burden you down with a a form of godliness without power! If we're to be a church of Jesus Christ we have to shake off the religion! Our best miracles will be in the crowd. We're meant to walk slow through a crowd. The greatest miracle could happen at the gas station when you're filling up your tank! Religion can argue with an ideology or options but they cannot argue with a testimony. Religion will have you focused on the destination that you miss the journey. The exclamation point to your story will be found along the way.A real encounter with God will make the dysfunctional function, so let's not be a part of church that only works in a room where one man talks and let's be the church outside in the crowd! APPLICATION: Have there been some areas in your life that you've struggled without becoming religious? How can you begin to let the truth of His word change you today. PRAYER: Father, I rebuke a religious spirit. I long to walk in love, power, and authority. I want to be discipled by you. I want to walk slow through the crowd so that I can allow your Spirit to change this world through me! Jesus name, Amen.…
Out of our misery comes our ministry. The greater the pain, the greater the power. It doesn’t matter who we are because our suffering is so that we can be called to help others. So let’s not get bitter with what we go through but allow others to benefit from the perseverance of our faith. But the enemy wants us to be stuck in a victim mentality so that we can get stuck focused in ourselves. We need to stop being hooked in our pain and give it to God.Things thats happen when we get stuck:1. Being stuck in Egypt is not necessarily a location but a mindset. Don’t get stuck in your past! When we don’t have confidence in the Lord we become a complainer. To complain about God is to declare that we don’t trust Him. We don’t get delivered because the truth is we don’t want to be. But we have to put away childish things and move on from that past. There’s a level of vulnerability that is required to being delivered.Jesus came to give us life and life more abundantly. What the means is that we don’t have to live In that wilderness season, we don’t have to be victims, we can gain all comfort through Christ so let’s boldly step into that healing today!…
Matthew 18:21-35 Forgiveness is not about keeping score, it’s about loosing count. The enemy’s plan is to keep us bound up in our offense, anger, and rage so we cannot walk into the fullness of what God has for us. We gotta serve an eviction notice to the enemy’s lie and release our pain and know that through Jesus we can receive healing from the inside out. Forgiveness is not acting like nothing happened, it’s saying this pain will no longer control me.Things to know about unforgiveness: Unaddressed hurt can turn into hate. If we do not heal what hurt us, we will bleed on those that never cut us. Everything we do, doesn’t only affect us but also everyone around us. Things yo know about forgiveness Forgiveness is not excusing the behavior but it’s saying, that behavior won’t destroy our heart anymore. Taking pain caused by people to God in prayer will always change our perspective. Our blessings come with how we handle forgiveness. Repentance leads to God’s forgiveness in the kingdom. When we ask for forgiveness, Jesus gives it to us. We should able to forgive those that hurt us, as many times as Jesus would forgive us for our sins. If we have been forgiven, we should be able to forgive those who hurt us. Forgiveness allows us to heal from our pain. We have to be healed so those wounds can turn into scars and we can tell the word, “I know how it’s like to be hurt, but I also know what its like to be healed.” This is how we break out of the prison of unforgiveness. Application: Have you found yourself stuck in the prison of unforgiveness because of the pain you’ve experienced? What wounds of you need to allow to heal, so you can walk in the fullness of what god has for you? Who do you need to forgive today to begin healing from the inside out?Prayer: Lord, I repent for harboring unforgiveness in my heart towards those that have hurt me. I realize that my unforgiveness has stopped you from doing all that you want to do in my life and through me. I forgive those who have hurt me and ask that you begin to heal me from that pain. Today, I chose to break out of the prison I have been stuck in. In Jesus name I pray, Amen…
The word says that we can make our own plans but the Lord is the one that orders our steps. Sometimes what gets in the way of God are our idols, which in this day and age can be our opinions, talents, strength, or dreams. There are two definitions of order, one is the way something goes, and the second is a command that is given for someone to follow in obedience. But sometimes we carry these idols, and just like Naman we can also carried pride, guilt, and shame that comes from our weakness hidden beneath our armor. Four things we must keep in mind to let God order our steps: To lean on God we must trust God, and to trust God, we must let him heal us from our pasts. God can only heal what we reveal! To follow Gods steps, we have to be honest with ourselves and with God! When we hear wisdom, we have to make sure to apply it, and follow the instructions because they matter! Following God’s steps requires humility. Naman had to come and submit humbly to instruction to receive breakthrough. The name Naman means beautiful but if we saw a leper we wouldn’t call them beautiful. Isn’t it wonderful that God calls us what we aren’t yet? So let’s take a step to be obedient to the instructions God has in our lives because what God is building in our lives is bigger than us. Let’s follow the steps and stand firm in Him! Application What is under the armor of God in our lives? What is that strength that is at times hiding our weakness?Prayer Father, I pray for increased humility in my life, I want to submit to your commands and trust that you will order my steps. Help me listen to your instructions and to heed your voice always, in Jesus name, Amen.…
Heaven is looking for a miracle to take place here on earth. But sometimes miracles can only come through our yes. Saying yes doesn’t mean life will get easier or more fun but it will be fulfilling. Everyday is a great position to worship to Him. There will be some days that the yes comes easy and some days, our yes will come with a fight but in all seasons, we’ll continue to choose to make a commitment to Christ. A yes in heaven is a no to other things, but it will always be a trade up. Even Christ Jesus had to say yes to God in the midst of rejection. We will have to say yes to looking foolish in a godless world but that is the heroes journey. It’s time to put boundaries on our past self and release God from the box we’ve put him in. Sometimes to say yes, we’ll need friends that will not allow us to stay in our no. Faith, courage, hard work, & persistence are the four things that we’ll need to say yes over and over again. Every hero in the bible said yes, so why are we still saying no? The word is honest and true and it stands when it says the righteous will never go forsaken and our hunger for Jesus will drive us to a new level!Application: What are somethings that God is asking you to say yes to, that you’ve said no to? Are you missing any of the 4 quadrants to be successful, if yes, how can you begin to work to grow in that?Prayer: Father, I say yes and amen with my life. I realized that it’s my yes that releases the miracles. Thank you for your patience with me but I pray that I won’t delay your plan any longer. Let your kingdom come and your will be done in my life. In Jesus name, Amen!…
The Pioneering Church We’re so grateful for the pioneers and revivalists of the past but God is calling those in this generation to help bring His kingdom to earth! To the level we honor God, is the level that we’ll experience His glory. And the way we honor, is the way we’ll perceive Him! For that reason Joshua and Caleb were able to make it through to the end. Despite the giants they faced, despite standing out from the crowd, and despite the battles, they always knew how to Honor God.We have been called to pioneer in this generation but that will come with a few challenges:1. Pioneering will cause us to breakout of old mindsets, that keep us trapped in Egypt.2. God might not give us the full picture but the giants in our promise land were left behind so we can lean on God.3. Sometimes God allows things so that He can prepare us for endurance. Because it is our character that produces hope!4. God is not creating slaves. He is creating sons because sons get to be a part of the journey.Know that it’ll be hard. Deliverance was instant but freedom is a process that will cost us everything! Don’t quit in the middle of stepping into your promise land because of the giants you’ve seen but embrace the spirit of love, power, and a sound mind.Application: Where in your life did you stop because you saw “giants” that seemed unconquerable to you? How can you begin to see the God of the giants in that situation today?Prayer: Father, I thank you for the spirit of love, power & a sound mind that will help me get through the wilderness into the next season. I pray that I leave old habits and mindsets behind and that I will press into you through the pain. I want to pioneer for you! In Jesus name, Amen.…
Do we want to become more like Jesus Christ? Is there a passion to look more like Him? When we receive Jesus something new takes place for us, in us, and as us. Christ wants to be the Center of our entire life. When He gets in all of who we are everything changes, but we have to be willing to give Him access to our entire being. Christian's these days don't want to go through anything. We don't want to endure; but if Jesus endured the cross, as His followers we will have to go through somethings because being a Christian ultimately means we will have to become pioneers but as pioneers we have to remember the following..If Christ is bold, I can be. If Christ is courageous, I can be. If Christ is compassionate, on I can be. If Christ is creative, I can be. If Christ is endurance, I can be. If Christ is humble, I can be. If Christ is persevere, 1 can be. If Christ is passion for the lost, I can be. If Christ is greatness, I can be.Ultimately, pioneering our life will be a lonely journey. Don't be afraid of going some place alone and position our life to partner with God instead bringing along an Aaron that will eventually mess things up. Remember that God called us for great things and don't forget to dream and believe again for us and our family! APPLICATION: Do you want to make a difference more than you want to make it big? Do you long to be like the David's and Daniel's of old or are you okay with just being a part of the crowd? PRAYER: Father, I thank you so much for giving me a pioneering spirit. I pray that you give me strength to endure and show me that there is more to life than what I see. I want your kingdom come and your will to be done in and through my life! In Jesus name, Amen.…
We were formed by God. We may look like our parents but we have The Fathers heart and calling in us. Some of us have been told that we were an accident. But God doesn’t make mistakes. Before God formed us in the womb. He molded us and carved out who we were. He designed us way before we were even a thought in our parents mind.God designed us and designed our destiny at the same time. If we don’t fit in, it’s because God designed us to be set apart. He made us different so we can seek for something greater than us. By not fitting in God reminds us of who we aren’t, so we can discover who we are. The more we compare ourselves to others, the more we’ll fail to be who we’re called. God put a call and destiny in our life not to fit in, so we can become leaders and pioneers. When you’re walking in the kingdom mindset you should know… Christ FOR you. He loves you at ALL times. His love is not bases on us, it’s based on Him. Christ IN you. We invite Him into every part of our life, good and bad. Christ ON you. Instead of putting on our old and dirty clothes. It’s time to wear and put on Christ. When we’re in Christ we become everything He is. When we’re in Christ, He doesn’t see our failures because He turns them into our testimony. We need to put on the armor of Christ everyday. The armor is not some religious stuff, the armor of is Jesus, so we can’t forget to put ON Christ.Application: Do you currently feel like you don’t fit in? What are some things that come to mind about who God has designed you to be? Are you currently walking in all 3 of the kingdom mindsets? If not, how can you begin to do that today?Prayer: Father, Today I receive and believe that you’re FOR me, IN me, and ON me. I ask that you remove all the dead things and become the center of my life. Thank you for not only loving me but also liking who I am. I’m ready to discover all that you designed me to be. In Jesus name, Amen.…
Jesus didn't have tough skin but He had a tough source. As people, we will undoubtably hurt each other. Tough skin ruins our purpose and destiny because we wall up and build fences that end up imprisoning us. Vision rarely comes to prayer without the labor of great prayer because big vision requires God help. Here are some reasons as to why we pray: 1. The power comes when we put Gods word in your mouth so we not only read the word, but we pray the word. 2. You are a citizen of heaven and what you need to know is that you have a the authority to enter the throne room. 3. Out of all things the disciples saw Jesus doing, the only thing they asked for instruction on how to pray. 4. Don't forget your place alongside of Him. The king is not looking for you to show up in a king James prayer of perfection. He is looking for intimacy through prayer. 5. Wherever you're at God hears you, even if that prayer is worked out in fear and trembling. God hears your heart and not just words. 6. Some of the best words that you might say, might be said through tears but we can go to Him broken without our religious words and share our hearts to the father. 7. Of all the things God can do, the only thing the Lord cannot do is answer a prayer that you didn't pray. He is waiting on YOU to open your mouth and speak to the one who loves you. We have lost the passion to learn how to pray so let's stir that up in our hearts today. You have to go to the prayer closet because out of that place will come the blueprints to change the world!…
How many times have we been led to a mess by the Lord but we find Him resting in the middle of that mess? God's not frustrated like we are frustrated, He's not worried like we are worried. But there are three types of storms we will go through in life: Correcting Storms 2. Perfecting Storms 3. Perspective Storms This is the type of storm that the disciples were in. This reveals a new aspect of the God's nature. Sometimes God is showing us who He is. The antidote to fear is not focusing on our fear but focusing in the perfect love that has given us authority over the fear. The only way to get a handle over our fear is to put on the mind of Christ! Here are some ways to get a sound mind: Stop waiting for change, to change our mind. Stop waiting for the situation to change because we can make a different choice. Change starts as a choice, decide today to live where we're going. We gotta believe it, when you've got nothing. It starts with us! •We don't need a miracle, we need better management. The same sun that melts wax, hardens clay. The bible tells us to control and manage our thoughts. It's not how we are it's how, we choose to be. The second that lie hits our heart, repent and get rid of the weak excuse. •Who is our mind serving? When our spirit is weak, it serves our flesh but with constant communion with the Holy Spirit we will run vision for our spirit. What we feed our mind becomes our mindset. God calls us to control our mind but it's our mindset what controls us. Create a new path in our mind with the truth of the word. Expect miracles along the way Watch God take things that took forever to restore and surprise us. Our expectation is the water for our seed. Are we believing Him to transform our whole life with one encounter with him??Let's stop confessing what we feel but let's confess what we believe!…
Validation from the Lord is accessible to us every day if we can open our ears and hear it. As we continue to walk with the Lord, He wants us to know exactly the ways in which He is willing to show up for us. God was pleased with Jesus, the Son, before He performed a single miracle. So, remember this: our God is already proud of us because His validation of us isn't based on our actions but on how He feels about us. Here are a few things to remember as you walk with the Lord: The wilderness isn't a punishment; it's a preparation for graduation. The devil pushes, but the Lord leads. If the wilderness is where the Lord has led us, then let's use it to crucify the desires of our flesh within us. God will work with us because He is a God of grace, but there will be a day when He will call us to conquer the things that we have been struggling with. The devil uses the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life to tempt us, but the Lord uses the cross to sanctify us before He fulfills His promises to us. Sometimes, it's not losing that makes us tired, but the continuous battles, even when we are winning. Those who make it past victory are the ones who realize that in the midst of darkness, angels are present. Even Jesus experienced fatigue, but remember that when you're tired, it might be because you've already overcome. Learn how to give and receive from the Lord, who can provide us with a fullness of joy that no human can offer. Wherever we're afraid to go, God will show us that just as He cares for sparrows, He is already looking after us…
Life's full of ups and downs, mountains, and valleys. God publicly validated Jesus when He was baptized, but immediately after, God called Jesus into the valley. When you receive the mandate of purpose in the kingdom, you answer the call. The call is not always in the highs, but if we're afraid of the lows, we'll never find out how powerful God really is. We need to trust the process but also be prepared to fight the good fight against the devil. We need to recognize the three weapons the devil has to defeat him in battle: Lust of the flesh Lust of the eyes Pride of life These are the same tactics the devil used on Eve. Eve lost the battle because she had a second-hand revelation. She had heard from Adam what God said. However, Jesus defeated the devil because He first conquered His flesh and had a first-hand revelation of the word of God. To survive the upcoming fight, we need to prepare and know the word of God within us. In the midst of the fight, we need to tell the devil, "It Is Written.. Remember, if our teacher is allowing our testing, they're trying to tell us that we already have all the answers we need to graduate to the next level. All we have to do is pass the test.…
God's perception of the prophets and the prophets' perceptions of themselves are completely opposite. In this day and age, we are fully convinced that we know God's heart and are speaking on His behalf. But how can we be so sure? The prophets of this age are busy with full calendars and an abundance of activities. But what does the Lord say? They speak not out of listening to His word. They have activity but they do not have authority. God wants us as a church to be filled with His authority and to release His power. God wants His church to be a gateway to heaven. In this scripture, the Lord shows observation, offering, and gives us further understanding: Observation: We're so busy that we don't fully spend time with Him. The God that we worship is close at hand, and although we live in an age where everything else is close at hand, the great tragedy for our generation is that we think we know the Lord, but we have only scratched the surface of who He is. He is not JUST close at hand but far away, in need of pursuit. Offering: He is giving us access to His throne and wants us to come into proximity with Him. We have to disconnect to connect. There have to be seasons in our lives where we push back on all the other things that are close at hand. There are parts of God that can only be discovered when we give God our day. Understanding: It's the far away God that comes to us in moments of our life that marks us with calling, with commission, giving us faith and vision. The far away God ruins us for the ordinary and makes us say that we don't want anything else but heaven right now. We're sustained by the close at hand God, but revival is started by the far away God. There are some levels of demonic oppression that can only be broken with prayers to the far away God, so let's press into that today!…
In our lives, we often strive to control certain aspects, but we must acknowledge that our efforts can only take us so far. When we attempt to control things, we are essentially admitting that we trust ourselves more than we trust God. However, it is crucial to realize that God does not want us to submit to Him partially; rather, He desires that we surrender everything to Him and trust in His process. It is important to recognize that our sins not only affect us but can also have an impact on those around us. As Christians, we are called to live as examples of the gospel, but our disobedience can lead to turmoil in other people's lives. There are several reasons why we might feel compelled to control things: It is our default mode of operation. At times, taking control can yield positive results. We might feel impatient and rush God's timing. In situations where we are following God's will and obeying His commands, we must trust that things will unfold as they are meant to. It is essential to understand that sin encompasses more than just our overt wrongdoings. Even if we make choices out of disobedience, we are still living in sin. When we place ourselves in God's hands, we can rest assured that regardless of the challenges we face, we will be okay because we are designed to be with Him. Therefore, it is crucial to let go of our need for control and surrender ourselves to His divine will. By doing so, we can live a life that is pleasing to God and be a positive influence on those around us.…
