We start by talking about the history of OKCoin, some of the changes it went through in recent years (like restructuring to become a fully licensed US-based exchange with strong banking relationships), and the goals of the platform.

Haider talks about his overall goal to simplify the process of working with crypto and make the space more accessible to ordinary users. We talk about the importance of having a good UX interface and how to enable more seamless transactions in crypto platforms.

How do you market crypto products to a mainstream audience? Haider talks about the importance of marketing, attracting crypto-curious users without alienating hardcore crypto natives, and how the engineer-driven nature of many early crypto projects led to poor UX and less focus on the product. We talk about how partnerships can be tough to form in the crypto space due to a sentiment that it’s best to build internally, combined with security concerns.

We finish by talking about some of OKCoin’s exciting recent developments and what’s coming in the near future.
