#metallica #bobrock #larsurlrich So when St. Anger came out, all I heard from everyone that I knew that had listened to it was that it was garbage. At the time, Metallica wasn't allowing any streaming. It wasn't on the radio and since I wasn't going to buy it I never listened to it. Fast forward to a few weeks ago. I was thinking about movies that didn't do well when they first came out but went on to become cult classics and some, like John Carpenter's "The Thing" have gone on to be very well respected and highly influential. This made me think that their had to albums that followed a similar track. For some crazy reason Metallica's St. Anger was the first album to pop into my head. I took the time and finally listened to it and honestly I am confused by all the hate. Apparently however, I am in the minority. All it takes is a quick internet search to learn that St. Anger, even all these years later is STILL very divisive, but is it REALLY THAT BAD? So... of course the only way to settle this is do to a podcast about it! LOL! On this week's Loudini Rock & Roll Circus we ask the question that's been on your mind for years, Metallica's St. Anger; is it REALLY that bad? Get Loudini Swag HERE: https://loulombardimusic.com/rnrcircus/ Topics covered: https://www.thisdayinmusic.com https://musicfeeds.com.au/features/in-defence-of-metallicas-st-anger/ Some of their heaviest rock since and justice for all a return to longer songs...various tempos and sound not perfect by any stretch of the imagination looser guitar tone than fans are used to elements of doom, grunge, djent Kirk is terribly underused. Understandable why TYPICAL Metallica fans would hate it Very intense use of polyrhythms good harmonies Cliff Burton... will always be there bass player. Jason Newsted was always an outsider. -Bob Rock COMING SOON! Loudini and the Toilet People
