Marcus Luttrell (aka "Lone Survivor") rescue mission planner, Air Force SMSgt Bill Nutt
Manage episode 307776562 series 2813587
Air Force Senior Master Sergeant, retired, Bill Nutt was the intelligence analyst who planned and coordinated the rescue mission that picked up "Lone Survivor" Marcus Luttrell in Afghanistan in 2005. Luttrell and approximately 20 of his fellow soldiers were shot down in a helicopter in the northeast of Afghanistan in 2005, and Luttrell was the only one to survive - largely through the efforts of a local Afghan family. His story was captured (with some Hollywood edits) in the movie "Lone Survivor" in 2013.
Bill talks about his part in that incredible mission and his career in the Air Force.
