In today's episode you are going to love this beautiful, inspiring, entertaining and victorious story that a Vietnamese daughter told us. Sheila’s parents moved to the UK after fleeing the Vietnam War in a boat! Thankfully they were rescued by the English Navy and managed to secure asylum here. Sheila explains what was life like growing up in London but still feeling like an outsider for looking, eating and having a family behaving differently to the others. She used to hide and snub her background until she went backpacking there. She then fell in love with her roots. After Sheila became a mother, she started respecting all the things her parents went through for her. She told me some hilarious moments about her early days as a mum and some Vietnamese traditions that she first fought against but then decided to embrace.
Her parent’s goal in life was for her to become a doctor, but after their divorce, Sheila decided to go on a different course instead. She graduated in Dentistry but ended up getting into facial aesthetics and is now even doing a masters in aesthetic medicine. This impressive lady tells us all about her career choices and how her hard work and determination got her where she is today.
Towards the end of our conversation, Sheila told me the hilarious facts that convinced her to ended up marrying a man from Hong Kong over an English guy. At the end of our conversation, Sheila also reveals the funny story about her parents choice over her name. This episode is totally unmissable, you will be entertained from start to finish.
