93 - Creating Cool Pieces with Jay Jeffrey of Lumber JAKKSS Millworks

In this week's episode we have Jay Jeffrey, Founder and Owner of Lumber JAKKSS Millworks in Frederick, Maryland! They are millwork company that makes custom furniture, desks, and basically almost custom everything using complete solid wood fabrication. He was born and raised in Bangor, Maine and grew up watching his father in the woodworking shop making things as a side hobby. He went to college in Massachusetts at 17 years old and after college he moved down to Maryland for a business opportunity. He had several businesses before, working with high school teams helping them raise money to an event planning company which all did not do so well when COVID hit. He mentions the story how Lumber JAKKSS Millworks was started which was by getting his own lumber to build a pavilion on his farm while having extra time during COVID and how the name came about (initials of his wife and 4 children). In July 2020, he pitched the business idea to his wife and that was the beginning of it all! Jay shares the ups and downs of his journey and never expect to be where he is today. He loves creating cool pieces and looking forward to the astounding growth they have continued to experience!
