Do you guys know Matt McGorry? He’s an actor/ social activist / striving to be the most woke cis white man on the planet. Seriously follow his insta for some great make-you-think content and activist themed book recommendations. He recently posted about the world of before and after pics and we couldn’t have said it better, “ Some people are going to comment about how before and after weight loss photos are actually about ‘health.’ And while I can understand why you’d think that given what we are taught by our culture these photos are still supporting the prevalent idea that health looks a specific way (like weight loss) and that weight loss equals health.”

Lillian has a story about a woman who was in need of an MRI. Her doctor told her that she was too big for the machine they had access to and suggested she contact the ZOO for help. Absolutely unacceptable! A quick google revealed that there were machines available called “3T Scanners” that accommodate a weight up to 550lbs and have a 17cm diameter (shoulder to shoulder.) So if you are in need of an MRI and your doctor is also completely unhelpful, try searching for 3T Scanners near you.

Here’s a nice change of pace - a possibly helpful instagram targeted ad! We kept seeing ad’s for a new app called Joyn - Joyful movement classes for every body! The trailer has us hopeful that this app is going to be good but we’re going to give the free trial a go and report back!
