I’m excited about my guest Kerrie Hummingbird, a soul guide and host of the Soul Nectar podcast. She is also the author of Love is Fierce: Healing the Mother Wound. Kerrie inspires others to lead their life with authenticity, passion, and purpose. She is a catalyst of life-changing and shows others how to find their life path.

Kerrie’s Trauma Story

Kerrie was a child in the summer of love in 1969. Her mother was raised in Texas with a solid religious background but was rebellious and didn’t want to follow social rules. She was good at rejecting aspects of her life that didn’t lead her to be free. Her mother moved to the city and met her father. Her father was a victim of chronic abuse and neglect. He abused Kerrie, and so her mother left her father for another man who was alcoholic and also physically abusive to Kerrie and her mother.

Her Positive Male Role Model

After leaving her second husband, her mother found her third husband, who was supportive of both Kerrie and her mother. Although she finally found stability in her life at age five, the years of abuse she had endured have led her to realize the impact of her trauma in her ability to relate to others and process her emotions.

Ancestral Trauma, Memories, and Healing

“We have inherited traumas that are cycling through my line, and the newest version shows up in you.” She started healing with talk therapy but didn’t have much success because her trauma was mainly pre-verbal. She decided to practice ancestral Healing for her journey. “All of the trauma experiences are like icicles that need to be melted so you can experience your own transformation.”

Ancestral Healing is effective for those who have traumatic or addiction events where the same event is repeatedly happening. “Part of it is ancestral and keeps rippling down the line from family to family.” When you search your family, you may be able to find the origin moment where your ancestral trauma started.” Inherited patterns that aren’t healed become part of your ancestral memories and are placed into your DNA passed on to your children.
