This week’s special guest is Grammy- award winning producer, recording artist, engineer and educator Prince Charles Alexander.

After becoming a signed solo recording artist under Virgin Records in the mid 1980s he began to focus his attention on a career as an audio engineer. He soon became one of the hottest engineers in hip-hop recording multi-platinum hits for Mary J Blige, Usher, Jodeci, Sting and Diddy. Its Prince Charles’s relationship with Diddy though that landed him the role of Bad Boy Entertainment’s lead engineer for over 10 years recording Bad Boy’s most iconic songs and albums.

In this episode he dials into the podcast to chat about his early life in Boston, breaking into the industry under music legend Maurice Starr, becoming a solo performer on Virgin, getting his big break as the engineer recording Joedci’s ‘Diary of a Mad Band’ album, how he landed at Badboy, shares vivid stories of recording Biggie’s ‘Ready to Die’ album, his new role as a professor at Berkelee School of Music and a whole lot more.
