Clubhouse App: The Next Big Thing or All Hype? - 166

With the new Clubhouse app getting a lot of hype in the media lately, I have decided to do a Clubhouse review to give you my perspective of this new and intriguing social media platform.
This is a relatively new platform that has only been out since May. Since it grabbed my attention, I decided to give it a try.
So, what are my thoughts? I have to say that I like the idea of Clubhouse. This is a platform that centres around drop-in audio chats. Essentially, it is like having a bunch of live podcasts that you can choose from.
However, a major difference between current podcasting and the Clubhouse app is that in these conversations, you as the listener have the ability to participate. When a speaker is finished, you can ask a question.
Now, my Clubhouse review wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the downsides that I noticed. One thing that I noticed was that the rooms sometimes had 2000 people listening.
When you have rooms that big, it becomes very difficult to participate.
I also noticed some people spending many hours on the Clubhouse app. It can be addicting. You have to be intentional about what you want to get out of it if you’re going to avoid wasting time.
Overall, my Clubhouse review is positive. This is an app that has the potential to be great. Just remember to be intentional, and be selective about who you choose to listen to.
