Bill was working with a manufacturing company and after moving to a new facility, they were having some pretty mysterious productivity problems. Production was falling off, they were behind on their targets and unable to catch up, and more.
Not being able to see the problem right away, Bill asked the team to order eight (8!) whiteboards. They then sat down and spent 45 minutes on what each of the metrics might be for each department.
