A recent article in Christianity Today explored the negativity that surrounds the word submission. Many people associating it with control, abuse of power, inequality and a lack of freedom. However, James teaches that as we submit ourselves to God, he will lift us up, giving us a greater and closer relationship with him rather than pushing us away.
