Florida and West Virginia are the latest states to pass anti-trans legislation. In Texas, their senate passed a bill that would classify providing gender affirming health care to transgender minors as child abuse. Thirty-plus states are attacking trans gender youth in a full scale war instituted by the Republican party. Today we talk about fighting back. Our special guest roster includes Alphonso David, an accomplished and nationally recognized LGBTQ civil rights lawyer and advocate, and the president of the Human Rights Campaign. Mr. David is the first civil rights lawyer and the first person of color to serve as president of HRC in the organization’s nearly 40-year history. We also welcome our friend Brandon Wolf, Central Florida Development Officer and Media Relations Manager, of Equality Florida. Besides being a regular guest on our show, Brandon is a nationally-recognized advocate for LGBTQ issues and gun violence prevention. He found his passion for social change following the shooting at Pulse Nightclub. He is a frequent contributor on state and national media outlets, having published opinion columns in USA Today, CNN digital and Orlando Weekly. He has also brought awareness to the issues in HuffPost, Metro Weekly, and on television outlets such as MSNBC, CNN, and more. Brandon received the Voice for Equality Award at the 2018 Orlando Gala.
