Dr. Donald Cline - a fertility doctor in Indianapolis - was trusted by many due to his stellar reputation. He performed artificial insemination on many women who successfully went on to have children. Dr. Cline ensured the women that each donor would be used a maximum of three times to prevent a large number of related people in the same general area. One woman named Jacoba Ballard was a product of artificial insemination performed by Dr. Cline and was always curious about whether she might have a brother or sister out there. When commercial DNA testing came onto the market, Jacoba decided to take a test with the hopes of finding a sibling. When she matched with 7 half siblings she started doing some detective work.
