Each and every person comes from a different culture or background. The way we grow up and the things we encounter are what shapes us into the people we are today.
I always say, “If you’re alive, you have Daddy Issues period. It is what it is.”
But there are people out there that say, “But Christian,”
-My dad was always there;
-I could never do any wrong;
-My dad took care of me and treated me like a princess”
Well, I hate to break it to you but even though your dad was there, you can still have Daddy Issues and things that are triggering to you and not even know it. Even the most delightful relationships with our parents have us in our heads.
And that’s ok! I’m so ready to help you navigate the messages you received so you can take what worked and leave what didn’t.
Robert Wilson Jr, host of From My Experience podcast, is here today to talk to us about his experience with Daddy Issues. He’s giving up the game about:
-With his own father
-Women he’s dated in the past
-And how those things have shaped him into who he is today
Our purpose of this conversation is to
-Normalize Daddy Issues…for men, too!
-Help break the history of black men often being silenced or quiet
-Show you how to grow from the pain of the past
-Learn how to make room for healthier relationships
Introducing my new online course…
“Is it me?: How My Daddy Issues May be Jacking up My Relationships”
A step-by-step course that shows you how to find your patterns and how to interrupt them for a healthier outlook and habits.
