Alisa’s Angels scholarship recipients support efforts as unique and varied as each of them, for example:
- Started a nonprofit to build schools in Africa
- Started a Tucson Chapter for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
- Started a nonprofit to oppose bullying in middle schools
- Served as youth leaders on state and local government civic boards
- Tutored elementary school students in STEM, civics, English and many other areas
The class of 2020 volunteered more than 10,000 hours helping the homeless, serving veterans, serving in their faith communities, volunteering with literacy programs, starting nonprofits, and so much more.
All of the students are leaders in their communities and schools. Whether it's providing blankets and coats to people in need, tutoring and mentoring younger students, teaching sign language, or distributing bread to the hungry, these youth are making an impact in their communities.
