Canadian children are eating 4 times the amount of sugar they should and so are adults. Are we eating the right foods? Are foods from the box good for us? Guess what I learned, sugar creates a food addiction cycle.
How is extended phone use and binge watching affecting our diets? Is technology making us fat? In short, yes! Have a listen and when you learn what you really eating watch the weight come off. I lost 15 lbs in 4 months.
Clarissa talks about the statistics about how much sugar and processed food we are eating. What can we do to eliminate sugar intake and how can we help our athletes perform.
- Clarissa has worked in the addiction and mental health fields for the past 12 years and enjoys a reputation as being a skillful clinician yet “down-to-earth” with common-sense solutions to problems that occur when clients are struggling with food addiction recovery issues.
- Clarissa founded Reinvent Your Bliss Point (https://foodaddictionhelp.ca) in 2018 where she works with individuals based on a holistic approach to healing and maintaining recovery.
- She has a passion for empowering and supporting individuals, coupled with her commitment to education and best practice, provides clients with a strong, supportive foundation to assist in navigating challenging times for them and loved ones.
- She encourages and monitors each client’s progress by assisting them in establishing short-term and long-term goals towards achieving sustainable and rewarding recovery. Her empathetic regard for each individual’s unique challenges and strengths fuels her commitment to helping people on their path to healing from food and the behavioural and emotional health issues that are attached to that.
- Clarissa hopes to bridge the gap between the Eating Disorder World and the Food Addiction as she struggled for over 19 years with eating disorder behaviour: anorexia, bulimia, binge eating and finally found recovery in abstinence from her drug foods as her solution.
- She now has a freedom with real food that she never believed was possible. She works with others to help them find this freedom too. We must equip children with mental skills and good habits to prevent mental health issues and phone addiction. Kids need to Play.
