So far in our "Focal Point" sermon series we have looked at some big themes from the Old Testament as well as important aspects of who Christ is and what he did to save us. Soon we will be moving on to look at the rest of the New Testament, but there is one more truth about Christ that we must look at before we can understand the rest of Scripture. After Jesus died and rose again, he appeared to over 500 people at various times over a period of 40 days. Then, as his disciples watched, he ascended into heaven. As he ascended, he gave instructions to his disciples that shape the rest of the New Testament and what it means to be a Christian - both then and now. In a sermon called "Look Up" we look at the ascension of Jesus and the last instructions he gave to us which is the Great Commission.
