Celebrating a document that withstands the tests of time.
Welcome to the Friday update on the NHC GOP Podcast, I am Reuel Sample.
This Saturday we will celebrate the 235th Anniversary of the Constitution of the United States. For 235 years we as a nation have been guided by the bedrock principles of this document. It has told us how we go about conducting the business of this country. It outlines the rights and responsibilities of each branch in government. And it sets a firm limit on the boundaries of government.
Make sure you get downtown this weekend to celebrate Constitution Day. No matter what party you belong to – it is an American document that changed the world.
So I leave you with these words from its Preamble:
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
