On Tuesday, December 15, host Trey Cashion talked about indulgences, which is a full or partial remission of the punishment due to sin. The two types of indulgences are partial and plenary. A partial indulgence removes some of the temporal punishment due to our sins, and a plenary indulgence removes all of it. Trey talked about God’s forgiveness, and what Jesus accomplished through His sacrifice on the Cross. Penance is a way for us to reconcile our relationship with Christ, not a punishment intended for us to “earn” his love back. Any good that we do is a gift of grace in itself; every good thing comes from God.
