Energy costs more right now, a statement we can across multiple sectors. Whether it's at the gas pump or the thermostat, we've seen higher prices throughout 2022. While gas prices have been moving in a downward direction over the last couple of months, other energy sectors are still dealing with high production costs, meaning that change is passed along to the consumers of those services.
Appalachian State's New River Light and Power has worked hard to keep those costs down for Town of Boone residents and business, though the utility does anticipate a rate adjustment will be made in the near future. On this episode of Mind Your Business, General Manager Ed Miller joins us to explain why and when customers can expect to see an increase in their monthly bill. He'll also talk about some of the factors to look for when anticipating a retreat of those costs.
Mind Your Business is produced weekly by the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce and can be heard each Thursday at 10:05AM on WATA (1450AM/96.5FM) in Boone.
