In this podcast, I share my experience as a teacher in the university system. Starting at San Diego State University, I have also taught at the University of Phoenix and Emory University. Currently, I teach three classes at Kennesaw State University.
The theory of pedagogy is not being taught in Cherokee County Schools. It has been integrated. Theories are useless unless they are integrated to get evidence-based results. Critical Race Theory - as a theory - is not being taught in Cherokee County Schools. However, just as the pedagogical theory is used to guide classroom instruction - the tenants of Critical Race Theory have been injected through books and third-party assignments.
We cannot keep fighting over semantics of whether the actual theory is being taught. Teaching theory is different than implementing the constructs of theory.
The tenants of Critical Race Theory are in Cherokee County Schools and there is much evidence to prove that. We must pay attention to this fact.
