In this article – ‘Mining 2021 – Market windows and accessing capital” – we review such factors as the capital markets’ bias towards established issuers; the need for mining companies to maintain a current technical report; longer regulatory review times for public offerings due to the volume of transaction activity occurring at the same time; a proposed financing exemption that will allow issuers with early stage exploration properties that have limited work programs to still qualify; and likely new options for issuers to raise capital in 2021.
