Today we bring you the seventh installment of our Truth and Reconciliation Commission Series. Episode Seven continues to explore the history of residential schools - their origins, purpose, and early impacts. This is a project we will be unveiling throughout the summer & fall of 2021, thanks in no small part to the many people who offered to volunteer to guest read. We will be providing a podcast format version of the entire Executive Summary of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Final Report, in addition to other TRC content. We hold space for Indigenous people who have been and continue to be harmed by colonialism. This recording is our way of engaging with Call to Action #27 - which calls upon legal professionals to ensure they have appropriate cultural competency training. We hope this can assist both legal professionals and the public in becoming culturally competent on this issue. We feel it our responsibility as settlers and as legal professionals to do this work and we thank you for listening.
