Straight Fire w/ Jason McIntyre - Joe Mixon On the Bubble in Cincinnati, Everybody Hates the Grizzlies & the Lakers Should Trade for Zach LaVine
Manage episode 354364196 series 2507427
On today's episode, Jason gets things started by sharing his thoughts on Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon being sought by police for pulling a gun on a woman. The Bengals showed in the AFC Championship game that they're ready to phase Mixon out of their offense if needed so it's definitely possible that this incident could lead to them cutting ties from him altogether. Later, J-Mac goes off on the Memphis Grizzlies after Dillon Brooks got ejected for hitting Donovan Mitchell in the crotch during their latest loss. Memphis is quickly becoming the most unlikeable team in the NBA. Brooks is a nuisance and the team talks more trash than anyone in the League. The only problem? They've never actually won anything to justify it. Finally, our fearless leader closes the show by discussing why the first thing he looks for in potential trades is whether or not a guy is a winning player. Alex Caruso? Winning player. James Wiseman? Not so much. Zach LaVine? The jury is still out. However, if you can get LaVine to the Los Angeles Lakers where he would be the third option behind LeBron James and Anthony Davis as opposed to the first option he's been for the last few years, you can expect most of his warts to disappear. We've seen good things happen when good-but-not-great players drop down the pecking order (CJ McCollum and Jrue Holiday); there's no reason to think LaVine can't be the next guy.
