In this podcast episode of Far Out with Faust, theoretical neuroscientist William Softky and metaphysical technology entrepreneur Mike Dannheim break down the basics of neurohacking: the science, the seemingly-limitless benefits, and most significantly, how they’re transforming the smartphone from a neuro-damaging device into one that quantifiably fosters the most important modern mission of all: human happiness.
We take a deep dive into the difference between biohacking and neurohacking technology, which uses neuromechanics instead of neurochemistry: essentially, applying mathematics and data flow analysis to predictably determine how sensory vibration translates into optimal human function.
Bill Softky holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Caltech, where he discovered a still-unsolved paradox about the firing patterns of brain neurons. A theoretical biophysicist — the son of two physicists — Softky served in the Peace Corps in Cameroon before attending grad school.
His subsequent career in Silicon Valley (including biophysics, human-computer interaction, and signal processing) has given him a unique perspective on the software and hardware architecture of human brains, including new insights about our deepest (yet most deeply-hidden) high-bandwidth method of somatic communication.
Mike Dannheim has over 12 years of experience as part of the management teams behind two venture capital-backed businesses (YCombinator and Rocket Internet). As a 17 year meditation, yoga practitioner and technology entrepreneur, his aim is to impact human health by bringing together cutting-edge research in mindfulness and neurophysiology with the support of technology to help provide access to healing and wellness for all.
At the age of 20 Mike suffered a traumatic brain injury with an out of body experience where he watched his body moving around the scene of the car accident without him. The western medical system deemed him helpless and thought that he would suffer with short term memory recall issues for the rest of his life. What happened next would change his life forever.
Mike is the founder of Joinsensie.com, a flow state technology that requires no special equipment. Sensie uses smartphone sensors to identify blockages in the nervous system and provides personalized techniques to clear it in less than 3 mins.
