How many times have you said this phrase in your life?
"It won't happen to me"... until it did.
On this episode I will be discussing with a very special guest about the impact a car accident can have on those people that are the first to arrive and offer help at the accident scene.
Pat Dixon.. a hero to many, a first responder that is forgotten like so many others will be sharing what he does to heal emotionally.
He was a paramedic for 30 years and has witnessed more than he ever wanted to, on the front line at work. From road accidents, to abuse and suicides, he has seen it all.
He says " the luck of support in the workplace and no education is not fair to the first responders or to their families. It's immoral to not receive the support they need to deal and process wthat they have seen over the years" this is why PTSD was inevitable.
After 30 years of working as a first responder in paramedics, he decided to step away and focus on his well being. With the help of his psychologist and occupational therapist, he is now happy, calm, and still very passionate about helping others.
He has spend countless hours perfecting his presentation called 'Coping skills for first responders" and he is sharing what he has learned, so everyone can receive the support and help they need.
If you want to have Pat on your show or reach out for a future presentation, send me an email at lifesurvivor_podcast@yahoo.com and I will forward your information directly to Pat.
