This BOMBSHELL IS BACK! That’s right! We rebranded the podcast BACK to Bombshell Business Podcast because the truth is the majority of you are women, and the men who engage in our community are self-aware, hungry to learn and totally secure in their masculinity to continue to be a “Bombshell Boy.”

In this episode I share that my social legacy is empowering women not just with confidence, but with personal power. And then I break down with data (of course) why women are simply less confident than men before social norms, wounds, or jackass professional men doing gross things even come into play.

Tune in now to get OK with not being inherently confident. (You’re not designed to be.) Then, hear about the solution for you to help you practice confidence like you would tennis, cooking, or anything you desire to get better at.

Data Referenced in the Episode

From “The Confidence Gap” via The Atlantic:

  • In studies, men overestimate their abilities and performance, and women underestimate both. Their performances do not differ in quality.

  • When women do negotiate, they ask for 30 percent less money than men do.

  • On average, men five years into their career think they deserve $80,000 a year and the women $64,000—or 20 percent less.

  • Hewlett-Packard discovered several years ago, that women working at HP applied for a promotion only when they believed they met 100 percent of the qualifications listed for the job. Men were happy to apply when they thought they could meet 60 percent of the job requirements.

  • “Men have about 10 times more testosterone than women do, impacting everything from speed to strength to muscle size to competitive instinct…

...Recent research has tied high testosterone levels to an appetite for risk taking.”

“Our brain is ‘hard-wired’ to be negative. Neuroscience shows that the majority of our self-talk is negative — it’s working against us. These negative thoughts make us feel angry, irritated, frustrated, hopelessness.” (Thrive Global)

We can actually train our brains to become more confident. Recent discoveries in neuroscience suggest our brains have the quality of "neuroplasticity," meaning the networks it uses to communicate information are malleable much later into life than previously thought. (Big Think)

“Confidence is not a fixed attribute; it’s the outcome of the thoughts we think and the actions we take. New research into neural plasticity reveals that we can literally rewire our brains in ways that affect our thoughts and behavior at any age.” (Forbes)
