When we step forward on the path God has called us to, we can expect to encounter opposition and adversity. God has given the people a vision - to rebuild the temple of God. And it won’t come easily. Ezra 4:4 says, "Then the peoples around them set out to discourage the people of Judah and make them afraid to go on building.” In fact, their words not only discouraged but completely halted progress for a time. Yet, in spite of it all, God was at work in the people. This Sabbath, we continue in our sermon series Re[Build]: God's Promises, A Sure Foundation. In this series on the book of Ezra we witness firsthand how the exiled people of God find their way.
