The music in this mix represents what I like to listen to when hanging out with just a few friends after a long night out. Sounds that I prefer as a soundtrack to my mindless spaced-out conversations on a couch rather than tracks designed to work a crowd on a dance floor...loopy, spacey, trippy, stripped, strangely structured, quirky, and subdued. I was actually glad that my friends at Electronic Groove (@egroove) asked me to do an afterhours-specific mix rather than a regular anything-goes mix. My last few mixes left me feeling like I was getting a little too "comfortable." I started getting self-conscious that I was getting predictable on both the types of songs I would choose and the way I would mix them together. I started getting bored of myself. That being said, I found this mix to be satisfying to put together. Hope you dig. Also, since these mix posts tend to reach a wide audience, I'd like to use this platform to show my solidarity as a straight ally with the LGBTQ community, especially to those who feel isolated or alone right now. At a personal level, all shootings are terrible, but this Orlando massacre has emotionally hit me the hardest in the last few years.
