Manage episode 295110272 series 2797541
Guitar? Check. Funny? Check. And a performer with not one but two NBC hits under her belt? Check and check.
Guess that explains why Kristin Key has been earning a lot of checks being funny for years.
Most recognized from NBC’s Bring the Funny and Last Comic Standing, Kristin has two-plus decades to her credit doing stand-up, a far cry from her humble origins as a preacher’s daughter who started in West Texas at the age of 19. In addition to her NBC work, SiriusXM play, and a hit Dry Bar special, Kristin has performed on a variety of TV shows/networks including VH1 and Comics Unleashed while also releasing five comedy albums (and a music comedy album). She also currently hosts the comedy podcast “Kristin Knows Blank” and hosts two weekly web series “Mad Mondays” and “Friday Live at 5” which can be viewed on her social media.
On this episode of A Tight 45, Kristin talks with Tabari about performing on cruise ships, Pride Month, becoming comfortable as a member of the LGTBQ+ community, how she came to reach sobriety ... And why the Game Show Network should give her a call ASAP.
