Is your dog the next Family Crossbreed Dog of the Year? Scruffts, sponsored by James Wellbeloved, is the nation’s favourite crossbreed competition and is a great way to enjoy time with your dog and family. A crossbreed is a dog of mixed blood, whose parents are of two different breeds, or a mixture of several breeds. Scruffts was launched back in 2000 at Discover Dogs and is now celebrated with a grand final at Crufts. Scruffts 2014 Winner Wylie, a crossbreed dog rescued from Afghanistan, has today (Friday March 7th) been named the Scruffts Family Crossbreed of the Year at the world’s greatest dog show, Crufts. Wylie was near death before he was rescued by soldiers in Kandahar, Afghanistan, back in 2011. They took him to an army base where he was treated for some horrific injuries. Despite all of this he has recovered and is described by Sarah as a “gentle, trusting and loving dog”. Scruffts 2014 heats The Kennel Club co-ordinates Scruffts heats throughout the UK during 2014. The winners from each heat will be invited to Discover Dogs 2014 at Earls Court 1, London in November for the Class Finals. Winners of the six classes at Discover Dogs will now go on to Crufts 2015 (5 - 8 March 2015) at The NEC, Birmingham, where they will compete for the overall Scruffts title
