Blue Bird ($BLBD) Delivers 23 Electric School Buses with 130 Mile Range to Kentucky School District

Blue Bird (NASDAQ: BLBD), a leading provider of electric school buses, is delivering 23 electric buses to Carter County Schools (CCS) in Kentucky.

The new electric school buses from Blue Bird boast an extended range, quicker battery charging, and expanded seating capacity. With a larger 196kWh battery—a 25% increase compared to previous models—the buses can cover up to 130 miles on a single charge, recharging fully in just three hours thanks to an 80kW fast-charging rate.

The compact, lighter batteries not only enhance efficiency but also trim the vehicle's weight by about 1,000 pounds, allowing the company to increase the seating capacity from 72 to 77 passengers, ensuring the safe transportation of up to 3,000 students to and from schools.
