Carol is the author of 'Mistress Cromwell', a novel which explores Cromwell's early years through the eyes of his wife, Elizabeth.

She brings her knowledge of the man and the events that shaped him - and others whose lives he touched - into this lively discussion which covers Cromwell's origins in Putney through to his downfall at the hands of his enemies in 1540.
